Update: 7/2/22

There are still moderate levels of seismic activity around the world. A magnitude 5.9 struck north of Hokkaido, Japan nearly 20 hours ago. There is a very high potential for more serious earthquake activity in the world. Japan has been more active again and there still could be more going on in Iran. Indonesia and the Philippines(Luzon), and the southwestern Pacific may also be potential candidates for the next strong earthquake. Meanwhile, some more activity has been flaring up in the Central and Eastern United States again. A magnitude 2.7 occurred near Williamsville, Missouri, not very far from the New Madrid Seismic Zone where a new small magnitude 1.7 was recorded early this morning. There could also be some more seismic activity occurring in parts of the West and Alaska.
