Update: 2/20/21

It looks like the activity all over the world has started to decline now. There were high levels of activity yesterday, but it may be winding down for now. There has been a lot going on in the region of Vanuatu and aftershock activity in the neighboring Loyalty Islands region. However, there is a chance it could heat up again somewhere. Within the next two weeks, the following places that could become active would include: the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region or possibly Italy, Iran, China(Xizang, Yunnan), Myanmar, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, the Flores and Banda Sea regions), East Timor, Northern Mariana Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Tonga, Chile, Peru, Central America, the Aleutian Islands(Alaska), Kamchatka Peninsula or the Kuril Islands.. It was starting to heat up in Southern California but it keeps falling flat on and off. I believe that I'm also simply stressed out about having to leave this place within the coming month. It has not been very active here at all this morning. It might act up this week. There is a very high chance of mag. 4 or greater here as well as Central California and Nevada within the week ahead at this point. There is a chance it could be today.

Update: 2/18/21

An aftershock of magnitude 6.1 occurred in the Loyalty Islands yesterday. A magnitude 6.2 occurred near the Southwestern side of the archipelago of Vanuatu. That area also had a larger earthquake just a few days ago. At this point, there may or may not be more strong earthquakes occurring elsewhere in the world anytime now. Iran has been having some concerning activity take place there. It is a place to monitor as a precaution even though at the same time, there may not be a large event going on there any time now. The rule of thumb is that it is better safe than sorry. Greece has also been having some significant activity taking place there most recently. There continues to be very little activity taking place here in Southern California. At this point, there should be a lot more going on by this weekend or early next week. More mag. 4+ are of a high likelihood within the week ahead. It could become more active today. Right now, it still looks the exact same as it did yesterday with only one small little flare-up and that was it. There has not been that much seismic activity going on anywhere else in the United States(excluding Alaska) this week so far.

New EQ Watch: 2/17-20/21

This is turning out to be a very active month so far. There is another high potential for more strong earthquakes in the world anytime now within the next 2-3 days. At the same time, it could end up becoming relatively quiet again. Places that could be at risk may include: Greece, Azerbaijan, Central Asia(Northern India, the Hindu Kush region, Tajikistan), Western China, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Flores and Banda Sea region), Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Central America.. The live map for Southern California may still not look very impressive this morning, but there is a very high chance of it acting up this week. More magnitude 4 or greater are due within the week ahead. There is even a possibility of something more significant going on in Southern and Central California within the next week or two. If it does not act up today, then it should likely become more active by the end of this week or early next week. There has also been signs of more activity in other parts of the United States such as Oklahoma and Texas.

Outlook: 2/16/21

Yesterday, another strong earthquake occurred in the region of Vanuatu. It was a magnitude 6.2. It may have been triggered from the events in the neighboring Loyalty Islands. This may be it for now. At the same time, there is a chance that another significant event could occur somewhere today. Again, it also may be over for now. There were signs of it becoming more active in Southern California yesterday, but then it became quiet again. It could still increase today or later this week with magnitude 4 or larger events on the horizon. There may also be more taking place in the Ridgecrest area, Mammoth Lakes, Nevada, and Central California anytime or day now. There may also be more activity going on in Alaska again - mag. 4+. There is also a chance more could take place in the Northern part of AK or Western Canada anytime now this week.
