May 26-27, 2019

Indeed, a particularly large earthquake did strike which was 10 days after I made that post. A magnitude 8.0 struck Northern Peru overnight. The epicenter was located west of the town of Yurimaguas and East of the Ucayali River. It had a focal depth of 68.2 miles(109.9 kilometers). Unfortunately, 1 fatality was confirmed and several others have been injured. It may not be over. There is still a very high potential for more large and potentially dangerous earthquake activity in parts of the world at any time or within the coming days so far.
Peru could endure strong aftershocks. Other areas of the world of concern include: China(Xizang, Yunnan, or Sichuan Province), Tajikistan region, Myanmar(Burma), the Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Flores Sea region) East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Vanuatu, Kermadec Islands, Chile, Argentina, Central America, Japan(Honshu, Kyushu, Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, potentially Southern Greece, possibly Italy(there also may not be anything serious taking place there; Just potentially eyeing the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region), Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, and/or Afghanistan..
As far as earthquake activity in Southern California is concerned, it has overall been far too quiet. There are due to be more noticeable tremors around the region at any time or within the next week at this point. There is always the potential it could escalate into something significant. At this point, a magnitude 4+ is due in this region at any moment or day. There could also be more activity elsewhere in California and the Western U.S. anytime now. There is also a potential for something taking place in the Pacific Northwest. There also may not be anything taking place up there now.
I felt a loss after that great quake that happened in Peru. Even though I posted a warning or advisory just over a week ago, I felt that I should have been more consistent. Yesterday was a hard day for me personally. I was not on Twitter much yesterday and this earthquake occurred extremely late at night in my time zone.

EQ Watch: May 16-21, 2019

So far, there is a very high potential for more large earthquakes somewhere in parts of the world again. A particularly powerful quake could potentially be imminent somewhere anytime now, any day, or within the next few weeks at this point. There may have already been a magnitude 7.5 most recently(New Ireland, Papua New Guinea), but that also may not be it. At the same time, it also very well could be for now and there not being anything magnitude 7 and above at least until next month. Regions to watch closely include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Molucca Sea region), Papua New Guinea, Central America(esp. Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and El Salvador), Philippines, Japan, Northern Mariana Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands, potentially New Zealand(North Island), Myanmar(Burma), China(Sichuan, Yunnan, Xizang), Kyrgyzstan region, Tajikistan, Northern India, Afghanistan or Pakistan, Turkey or Southern Greece, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, possibly the Carribean(Puerto Rico, Haiti, or perhaps the Barbados or Caymen Islands), Aleutian Islands, and Kuril Islands.
As far as earthquake activity in Southern California goes, magnitude 4 or greater anytime now or within the next week are highly likely. There has not been anything of magnitude 4 and above in this region in a while. Something more significant could be upon us within that time frame of 2 weeks if not any day now. It seems like nothing ever changes here, but it will happen eventually. It shouldn't be that much longer. There could also be more seismic activity increasing in other parts of California and/or the Western U.S. such as the Yellowstone area.

Considering

Does anyone here in California ever thoroughly think about when the sh*t hits the fan? I would be watching these big earthquakes strike around the world. I would see footage of a major earthquake taking place and wonder what that is like. I have never experienced a large earthquake before. It is interesting watching these events happening somewhere in the world. However, I have to remember that someone may be having the worst day ever in that part of the world.
It is hard to imagine. All these years, none of it has touched me. I have seen on television and online of it happening to other people. It will eventually happen to me. It may not be much longer before the next big earthquake here in Southern California. I don't feel that I have taken this seriously enough. I have never been through anything significant, so it is hard to come to that point. Every now and then, it may occur to me. I think about my loved ones and pray everyday that they are safe wherever they go and they're not going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I try to sensitize myself more by looking at graphic images of earthquake victims and survivors. I look up survivor stories and listen to the impact the natural disaster had on them. I make myself think about how people have been disfigured and died horrible deaths. I learned about the terrible pain people suffered from their injuries such as in Haiti. This is not something we should be lighthearted about at all, especially when it comes to a full fledged fault rupture. It is time to really start preparing for the big one. They say take action now because it could suddenly spring upon us any day.

EQ WATCH: May 8-16, 2019

The significant earthquake activity worldwide is low right now, but that still might change at any time or within the next 5 days so far. There is an extremely high chance of more large earthquakes somewhere worldwide. Just the other day, a magnitude 7.2 struck Eastern Papua New Guinea at 7:20 AM Tuesday(local time). The quake cutted power and knocked items off of shelves, but no immediate reports of injuries and no tsunami was generated. There may be much more to come within the next few weeks at this point. While there may not be much happening for right now, another powerful earthquake or two may be imminent somewhere in the world. It could be anytime today, tomorrow, or perhaps 2 weeks out. More big quakes worldwide at least within the next 2-3 weeks are highly likely.
Places of concern include: Papua New Guinea, New Guinea, Indonesia(Banda Sea region, Sulawesi, Java, Sumatra), Andaman and Nicobar Islands region, Myanmar(Burma), China(Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai, or Xizang), Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan region, Northern India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Western Turkey or Southern Greece, Celebes Sea, Philippines(Mindanao, Samar, or Luzon), Babuyan and Batan Islands, possibly Taiwan, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Southwestern Alaska and the Aleutians, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, potentially New Zealand's North Island, Argentina, Chile(Coquimbo, Maule, Biobio, Antofagasta, Tarapaca), Bolivia, Peru, Central America(especially Nicaragua), and Mexico(Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerrero, or Michoacan).
The listed regions are potential candidates for the next strong earthquakes within the coming weeks or anytime now. I want to remind everyone that when I list all those places, do not interpret that numerous big earthquakes might impact all those regions at once. That sounds like just about everywhere. There is also due to be magnitude 4 or larger quakes in Southern California anytime now or within the next 2-3 weeks. There is most likely to be a magnitude 4 or bigger at least within 2-3 weeks in this region. A magnitude 3.5 occurred West of Salton City at 9:14 this morning. It has been totally quiet over the past 3 hours after that. However, the activity might start increasing again anytime now or within the next several hours. If you live in Southern California, don't be surprised if you feel a jolt by this weekend. However, don't be too surprised if it remains quiet all week. It could delay up to about a week or two before the next noticeable earthquake here.
There could also be more activity imminent in other parts of California and the Western U.S. anytime or day now. Something more widely felt could take place in Southern, Central, and/or Northern California, Nevada, and/or Montana within the next few weeks or anytime now. I will keep the world posted in the meantime on Twitter. https://twitter.com/SeismicFox1

EQ Watch: May 3-6, 2019

There is a very high chance of major earthquake activity somewhere in the world any moment now or any day now. However, there also may not be much else taking place, but more big quakes are due within the next 2-3 weeks. Regions of concern include: Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, Loyalty Islands, possibly New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Halmahera), Banda Sea region, East Timor, Micronesia, Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Taiwan, Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands or Alaska Peninsula, Andaman Islands region, Myanmar(Burma), Western China, Tajikistan region, Afghanistan, Northern India, or Pakistan, Turkey, Southern Greece, Chile(Coquimbo, Valparaiso, Atacama, Antofagasta, or Tarapaca), Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, potentially Colombia or Venezuela, and Central America..
So far, there is also some more seismic activity warming up again in Southern California. There is a very high chance of magnitude 4 or higher within the week or perhaps 2 weeks from now. It is due for more mag. 4+ anytime now or within that time frame of 2-3 weeks. There may also be some more activity increasing elsewhere in California and the West.
There is once again, a very high chance of mag. 6-7+ worldwide anytime now or at least within the next 2-3 weeks at this point.
