EQ WATCH: Feb. 27 - March 2, 2020

The chances of magnitude 6 or larger earthquakes worldwide somewhere are extremely high again so far. So far, it is showing signs of acting up out there. Regions that may be potential candidates for the next big earthquakes include: Indonesia(Molucca Sea region, Java, Sumatra, Kepulauan Barat Daya), Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, or the Batan Islands), Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Andaman Islands region, parts of Central Asia such as Western China, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Tonga, Fiji, Kermadec Islands, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Aleutian Islands...
Be aware if you are living in any of these active regions(if you know English or have a translator). A large earthquake could occur at any moment or any day now. Drop to the floor, get underneath a sturdy piece of furniture, and hold on to it. Just don't run or try to exit the building. It is safest to stay where you are and away from windows during an earthquake.
So far, more activity is increasing here in Southern California. There is a very high chance for more magnitude 3-4+ taking place around here anytime now or this weekend so far.

EQ WATCH Update: 2/22/20

So far, there has more or less been more significant activity taking place in the world. However, the chances of magnitude 6 or greater any moment now or sometime within the next few days are extremely high. At the same time, it could also become relatively quiet through the end of this month. A magnitude 6 or larger quake is likely somewhere in the world anytime now or within the next several days. Areas that may be under the gun include: Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Izu Islands region), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Papua New Guinea, Philippines(Mindanao, Batan Islands region), Molucca and Banda Sea regions, East Timor, Indonesia(Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, or Halmahera), Andaman Islands region, portions of Western China, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, or Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Tonga, Kermadec Islands, Chile, Peru, Galapagos Islands region, and/or Central America.
There may also be more activity increasing in Southern California any moment now. More magnitude 3-4+ may be on the rise anytime now or within the coming days once more. There may also be more activity heating up in other parts of the state. There is also a very high potential for more mag. 4+ up in Alaska anytime or day now.

EQ WATCH: Feb. 20 - 26th, 2020

So far, the chances of major earthquake activity worldwide any moment or day now are extremely high again so far. It has been starting to become more active again today in parts of the world. Regions of potential concern include: the Molucca Sea region(Indonesia), East Timor, the Banda Sea region(Indonesia), Philippines(Mindanao), Sumatra and Java(Indonesia), Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands(Alaska, U.S.A.), Central Asia(Western China, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan), Iran, Turkey, Greece, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Tonga, Kermadec Islands, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Central America..
There is also still that possibility of something significant taking place along the Pacific Northwest coast or BC coast/Gulf of Alaska. More seismic activity has also started ramping up in Southern California again so far. There has also been more heating up in the Ridgecrest area and area near Bishop. Be cautious in case something more significant may be on the rise again. There should be more mag. 3+ here in Southern California anytime or day now. The Glen Avon or Greater Los Angeles area could have a magnitude 3 or larger anytime now or by this weekend so far. The next one could also occur elsewhere in Southern California such as near Yucaipa, Yucca Valley, Big Bear, or the Mojave Desert(e.g. Barstow area).
In terms of big earthquakes in the world, there is due to be more mag. 6+ somewhere any moment now or within the next 5 days.
At the same time, it could end up being relatively quiet heading on into March. There is still a high chance there is much more to come in Southern and Central California within the coming weeks or sooner.

There is now an extremely high chance for major earthquake activity worldwide anytime now. There is likely to be more magnitude 6 or greater somewhere in the world within the next 5-7 days at this point so far. Potential hot spots include: Indonesia(Molucca Sea region, Banda and Ceram Sea region, Sumatra, or Java), Taiwan, the Batan Islands region, Japan(Kyushu, Honshu, or Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Tonga, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, the coast of British Columbia or Gulf of Alaska, China(Xinjiang, Xizang, Yunnan, or Sichuan), Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Greece..
There is also a potential for something significant taking place in the Gulf of California or Baja. However, while the potential for more large earthquakes worldwide are soaring, it may also stop and become quiet for a little while at first. There may also be more activity heating up in Southern California anytime or day now with a very strong chance of magnitude 4+. There may also be more activity ramping up in Central and Northern California as well.

EQ WATCH: Feb. 12 - 17, 2020

At this point, there may not be much going on out there right now, but the chances of more mag. 6+ are rising again. There is a very high chance for more large earthquake activity somewhere in the world any moment now or sometime within the next 5 days so far. Regions that may be candidates for the next set of significant activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Halmahera), Flores Sea, Molucca Sea, Banda Sea region, Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Tajikistan region, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Peru, Central America..
There could also potentially be something significant taking place in the Yukon Territory of Canada anytime now or sometime within weeks. There also could possibly be something big going on in the Gulf of Alaska or the coast of British Columbia. As far as here in Southern California, there is a high chance of more mag. 3-4+ anytime or day now again. It could be today, tomorrow, or this weekend. Right now, there may or may not be any significant EQ activity going on in the world right now.
However, more mag. 6+ somewhere is likely within the next 3-5 days so far. I will be providing updates along the way.

EQ WATCH: Feb. 5 - 11, 2020

So far, the chances of more major earthquake activity worldwide are very high again. Another major earthquake could occur somewhere anytime now within the next 5-7 days so far at this point. A new magnitude 6.2 occurred in the Java Sea, 69 miles NNE of Kemeduran, Indonesia. There is a possibility an even stronger quake could occur in that same area or a neighboring region anytime or day now. Potential candidates of the next round of significant to major quake activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, or Halmahera), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, North Island, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands region), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, parts of the Caribbean such as the Cayman Islands, Central America, Peru, Chile, South Sandwich Islands, Turkey, Greece, Iran, Afghanistan or Pakistan, Western China, and/or the Andaman Islands region..
So far, there may be some more activity heating up in Southern, Central, and Northern California anytime now or later within the week ahead. More magnitude 3-4+ are of a higher potential in Southern California anytime or day now so far. There may also be more activity taking place in other parts of the Western U.S. such as Utah, Idaho, and/or Yellowstone.
