Update: New Year's Eve

Just as I had suspected a couple of days ago, it looks like very little significant activity may be going on in the world for now. I speculated that it could end up becoming extremely quiet before it becomes heavily active. This could last on into next week or it could dramatically change today, tonight, or tomorrow. There should be much more to come within the next week or two. A magnitude 7 or greater is likely to strike somewhere in the world within the next two weeks so far.
Places that could be impacted by strong to major earthquake activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Halmahera, Pulau), East Timor, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Japan(Bonin Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Hokkaido, Honshu, or Kyushu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, possibly the coast of British Columbia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Kermadec Islands, Andaman Islands, China(Xinjiang, Xizang, Sichuan, or Yunnan), Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Greece, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Central America, and possibly the Puerto Rico Trench..
I'm still having a strong feeling a possible magnitude 8 or greater may occur any day now or sometime within the month. I have been growing increasingly concerned about the Puerto Rico Trench. That is capable of a massive tsunamigenic earthquake. I imagine that it is the very last thing residents of Puerto Rico want to think about as Hurricane Maria happened in the not-so-distant past. It made living conditions horrible. A major earthquake may also not occur at all, but it is again, better safe than sorry.
There may still be a lot more seismic activity heating up in Southern California this week and/or next week. There is still an extremely high chance of magnitude 4 or greater around here. There is still a chance more could be taking place in parts of Central and/or Northern California. There may also be some more seismic activity heating up in the Yellowstone area - a possible swarm getting ready to unfold. There have been some more very small quakes popping up around there.

EQ WATCH Update: 12/29/19

At this point, it may become very quiet around the world before a lot of significant activity starts up. I would call it standby. However, a major earthquake still could strike any minute somewhere. At the same time, I will not be surprised if very little takes place for right now or even tomorrow. It could end up being a week before a large quake occurs somewhere. There is due to be a lot more big earthquake activity within the next week or two.
It still should be acting up more in Southern California. There has not been a magnitude 4 or bigger anywhere South of the Garlock Fault or North of the border with Mexico in a long time. We are due.

Outlook: Dec. 29, 2019

There is a lot of activity going on in the world right now for sure. However, a major earthquake somewhere in the world may or may not occur today or tomorrow or perhaps even this week. The chances of one at any moment are still great. There is still a very high potential for a possible magnitude 8 or greater somewhere. At this point, there will likely be major earthquake activity any moment now or sometime within the next week or two. Great earthquakes(magnitude 8+) happen in the world at least once a year. At this point, it may be early in 2020 or possibly within the next couple of days.
The Kamchatka Peninsula region and the Western Aleutian Islands could be candidates for an earthquake of magnitude 7 or greater at any time. The coast of British Columbia and the Gulf of Alaska could still possibly having something more serious going on. I'm just now starting to become more concerned about the Pacific Northwest coast(from Northern California to Washington). I'm not necessarily implying that the Cascadia subduction zone is going to rupture right now or very soon, but I am monitoring it just in case. I am aware that a very large earthquake is due somewhere in the world at any moment.
The Southwestern Pacific(Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, the Samoas, and the Solomon Islands) could also be a candidate for the next major quake. Halmahera and Java, Indonesia may be having some more serious activity going on any time or day now. East Timor, Papua New Guinea, the Andaman Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands are also candidates. It could also be Hokkaido's turn for a major event any time now or sometime very soon. Central America, Colombia, and possibly the Puerto Rico region are possible areas of concern as well. Greece and/or Western Turkey could be having something more significant.
I also have been paying more attention to Central Asia recently again. As for here(Southern California), there has been more activity heating up so far. Right now, there may be nothing going on, but more magnitude 4 or greater earthquakes are due to take place at any moment. A magnitude 4 or higher could happen somewhere in Southern California today, tomorrow, later this week or next week. We are even due for something more significant within weeks, months, or possibly a few days. I will just have to play it by ear. There could be more mag. 3-4+ in the Ridgecrest area. I have also been growing more concerned about Central California, especially the Parkfield region.
A strong earthquake in the area in the near future may be of a higher possibility. Again, no one can know for sure. It is just an area we may have to be aware of. I think about that in the future and it eventually triggering the Southernmost segment of the SAF here. I'm really just speculating at this point.

EQ WATCH: Dec. 28 - January 6th, 2019

The potential for major earthquake activity worldwide any moment now or sometime within the coming week is extremely high now so far. A major earthquake may be imminent somewhere. There could even be a particularly large earthquake on the verge of striking at any time. Potential candidates for the next round of significant earthquake activity include: Indonesia(Java, Halmahera, Kepulauan Barat Daya, Sumatra), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Andaman Islands, Central Asia, Turkey, Greece, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Kamchatka peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Tonga, the Samoas, Solomon Islands, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Central America...
There is also the possibility of something large taking place in the Puerto Rico region. There could also still be a more serious event taking place along the coast of British Columbia and the Gulf of Alaska. Here in Southern California, more activity started heating up this morning. A magnitude 3.3 struck near Brea at 9:23 this morning.
There may be much more on the way, perhaps by new years. A magnitude 4 or bigger could still take place any moment now. There could also be more activity taking place in other parts of California such as the Ridgecrest area. There could possibly be something going on up near Parkfield. There is also has been more activity taking place off the Pacific Northwest coast. That is another area I'm starting to watch at this point.

EQ WATCH: Dec. 23 - 30th, 2019

The chances of mag. 6-7+ worldwide any moment now or sometime within the week are extremely high. There is some serious activity taking place off the coast of British Columbia, Canada and the Gulf of Alaska so far. It is an area of concern at this point. A magnitude 6.0 just occurred there and there is the possibility of a much larger tremor any moment or day now. However, there also may not be anything bigger going on there, but it is better safe than sorry. Other regions to watch out for include: Central Asia(Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran), Turkey, Greece, Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Kepulauan Barat Daya, Halmahera), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, Hokkaido, Izu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Central America, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Tonga, Solomon Islands..
There is a potential for concern in the Aleutian Islands as well as mainland Alaska. There could be a volcanic eruption occurring there. 2 volcanoes are at level orange which means that it is on alert. Cleveland is at yellow which means an advisory. There is still a very high potential for more earthquakes in Southern California any time or day now. Magnitude 4+ quakes are due to strike here anytime now or within the next week. There may also be more activity taking place elsewhere around the state, including the Ridgecrest area, Mammoth, and Northern California.

Saturday, December 21, 2019

EQ WATCH: Dec. 21 - 29, 2019

The chances of magnitude 6-7+ are heating up again so far. There may be more strong and potentially dangerous earthquake activity taking place somewhere anytime now within the next 5-7 days. There may not be that much taking place right now, but so far, the chances are soaring again. Regions that may be impacted include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Flores Sea, or Halmahera), Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Izu Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Kyushu, Honshu, or Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula or the Aleutian Islands, Central America, Peru, Chile, South Sandwich Islands, possibly the North Island of New Zealand, Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Andaman Islands, possibly Central Asia again(There was a magnitude 6.1 in Afghanistan the other day).
There is still a high chance for more activity going on here in Southern California any time or day now. Magnitude 4 or greater earthquakes this week are possible. There could even be a magnitude 3 or 4 or bigger today or tomorrow around here. It could be in the Mojave Desert, the Inland Empire, far South around the Salton Sea, or in the Greater Los Angeles area. More activity within the coming week or by New Year's is expected.
There also could be more acting up near Ridgecrest and there still may be more activity taking place elsewhere in California and/or parts of the West including the Pacific Northwest.

Dec. 15, 2019

Hours ago, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Mindanao, Philippines. Unfortunately, there was a casualty and it was a child. There is still a very high potential for more large quakes worldwide anytime now or any day now. A magnitude 7 or greater may occur somewhere at any moment or within the next week. Regions that are potential candidates for the next big earthquake include: Japan(Izu Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands, Philippines, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Kepulauan Babar region, Halmahera), Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, the Samoas, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Loyalty Islands, Andaman Islands region(North of Sumatra, Indonesia), Myanmar, China(Xinjiang, Sichuan, Yunnan, or Xizang), Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Greece, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Panama, and Central America..
There may be little or no activity currently taking place in Southern California right now, but there is a very high chance of magnitude 3-4+ any moment or day now. More magnitude 4+ are due here. There may also be more taking place elsewhere in the state this week or even today. For the rest of the world, there may still be more strong earthquake activity taking place somewhere. At the same time, it could come to a halt where there is not much else taking place for now.

Update: Dec. 13, 2019

Right when it was starting to rile up, it suddenly stopped. Now, the overall activity worldwide is lower than ever. At this point, we may not see anything significant going on anywhere until next week. However, there is a decent change it can suddenly become active again later today or this weekend. There is due to be more magnitude 6-7 or greater in the world. At this point, the next magnitude 7 may be within the next 2 weeks or sooner.
There may or may not be more seismic activity going on in Southern California for right now. However, there still may be a lot more taking place in the region within the next 2-3 weeks.

Wednesday, December 11, 2019

EQ WATCH: Dec. 12 - 20, 2019

There is now a very high risk for more large earthquakes worldwide any moment now or within the week ahead. A magnitude 6 or 7 or greater may be taking place somewhere at any moment or day. Regions in particular that could be potential candidates for the next big earthquake include: the Molucca and Banda Sea region(Indonesia - Halmahera, Talaud Islands, Sulawesi), Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Greece and the Western Mediterranean Sea region, parts of China such as Xinjiang, Yunnan, and/or Sichuan, Central America..
Other places that could be experiencing significant activity include: Sumatra, Indonesia(or Java), the Andaman Islands region, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Iran, New Zealand(North Island), Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, Japan's Ryukyu Islands region, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Southern Alaska and the Aleutian Islands..
So far, it is heated out there. More magnitude 6-7+ within the next week at the longest is highly likely. There may also be mag. 3-4+ taking place here in Southern California any day now. There is also a potential for more significant activity here in the coming weeks or even days. There has been numerous micro quakes occurring in certain faults such as the San Jacinto and Elsinore Faults. There could also be more seismic activity occurring in other areas of the state such as the Ridgecrest area, Central California(or perhaps NorCal).

Outlook for December 2019

As of right now, there might not be anything serious going on in the world at all. While there could still very well be a significant event somewhere at any time, it could hold off for another week. There is also a high likelihood for magnitude 7 or greater somewhere within the next 2 weeks at the longest so far. A major quake could hit somewhere at any moment or not for another few weeks. It could stay relatively quiet out there this week where much more takes place next week or perhaps by this weekend.
In Southern California, there may not be much taking place for right now. Although a magnitude 4 or larger could happen here anytime or day now, it could delay for another week or so. There may be much more taking place by the week of Christmas and/or New Year's. Something more serious is of a higher possibility within the next few weeks at this point. As much as it may happen, it also may not happen. It is safe to say that we are due for more significant seismic events.

Monday, December 9, 2019

Update: Dec. 9, 2019

There is a very high chance for more large earthquake activity worldwide remaining in effect. There may be a magnitude 6 or larger event imminent somewhere in the world anytime now within the next 5-7 days. Regions that may be experiencing significant seismic activity anytime or day now include: Central America, the Caribbean region(e.g. Cayman Islands), Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, South Sandwich Islands, New Zealand(North Island), Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Solomon Islands, the Samoas, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Indonesia(Halmahera, Java, Sumatra), Philippines(Luzon), Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, possibly mainland Alaska, Andaman Islands region, China(Xinjiang, Xizang, Sichuan, or Yunnan), Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, and Greece..
There is also more activity heating up again in Southern California. We may have much more taking place here any day now or perhaps even next week or the holidays. There could be something more significant coming. I have been eyeballing the Lake Elsinore area as well as the Garlock Fault. A line of very small earthquakes along the Garlock Fault have occurred over the last day. There is a high chance of mag. 4+ in Southern California anytime or day now. There could also be more activity taking place in Central and/or Northern California and/or Nevada.

Sunday, December 8, 2019

EQ Watch: Dec. 8 - 15, 2019

The chances of major earthquake activity worldwide has spiked back up again just now. There is a very strong chance of magnitude 6 or greater somewhere anytime now or within the coming week so far. There could be a particularly large and dangerous event somewhere in the world anytime or day now. Regions that are potential candidates for the next set of significant earthquakes include: Central America, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, New Zealand(North Island), Tonga, Vanuatu, the Samoas, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Philippines(Mindanao), East Timor, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Talaud Islands, Halmahera), Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Hokkaido, Honshu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Tajikistan, parts of Western China(Xinjiang), Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region..
There may just now be more taking place in Southern Alaska. There is a higher chance of a magnitude 4 or 5+ anytime this week or next. There may not be that much going on here in Southern California, but more activity may be increasing again at any moment. There is a very high chance of more magnitude 3+ anytime or day now. There is even a very high chance of mag. 4+ anytime now or within the week ahead so far.

Update: Dec. 2, 2019

Last night, a magnitude 6.0 occurred in the Andreanof Islands region of Alaska's Aleutian Island chain. Other than that, there has not been much else going on in terms of any significant activity worldwide. At this point, the potential for large earthquake activity stretches out to next week. If no more magnitude 6 or larger earthquakes happen anywhere in the world this week, then it will likely be next week. A particularly large event on the horizon somewhere is possible. Regions under potential concern would include: the Andaman Islands region, Myanmar, parts of China such as Sichuan, Xinjiang, and/or Yunnan, Afghanistan and/or Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Halmahera, Molucca, Flores, and Banda Seas), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Central America - Mexico(Chiapas), Guatemala, possibly Belize, Honduras, and/or the Cayman Islands, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Peru, Bolivia, Chile(Tarapaca, Antofagasta, Atacama, Valparaiso), Argentina..
As for Southern California, there has been little taking place here over the past 2 days. It may still be showing signs of becoming busier anytime now or later this week. More activity may still be on the rise so far. There could still also be some more activity taking place elsewhere in California(Mag. 3 or 4+) anytime or day now such as the Bay Area, the Tehachapi Mountains, and Ridgecrest area.

EQ WATCH: November 30 - December 6

Yesterday, I was without electricity for 15 hours. I stayed in touch via cell; I was fortunate enough to have access to the internet through my phone. However, there is no rest for the weary. I am on alert again in terms of global activity. The chances of major earthquake activity somewhere in the world has skyrocketed again so far. Any moment now within the next 5-7 days, a big quake could strike again somewhere. Places to watch would include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Talaud Islands, Flores, Molucca, and Banda Sea regions), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Kermadec Islands, the Samoas, Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands(Alaska, U.S.A.), Myanmar(Burma), Afghanistan, possibly Iran, Turkey, Greece, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Central America..
There could potentially be something significant going on in Southern China and neighboring regions to the South. There is still potentially a lot going on out there. There may not be a lot of significant activity going on anywhere right now, but it could start up at any moment or sometime within the next day or two so far. It is not guaranteed to happen. This is not earthquake prediction. One cannot place a date and time on an event in a specific location and know for certain it will happen. Even meteorologists do not actually predict the weather. They can forecast it by giving the probability of precipitation on a day, but it does not always happen. It did not mean they were wrong. Weather can change anytime, just as energy inside the earth. So, it can end up subsiding again to where there also may not be any strong to major events in the coming week.
Back home, there is currently very little activity taking place here in Southern California. The last quake of magnitude 1 or above was more than 8 hours ago. There was a magnitude 3.5 on Thanksgiving evening near Boron. Now, the activity has dropped for now. It could still heat back up again today.

Monday, November 25, 2019

Update: November 25-26, 2019

There is now an extremely high chance of major earthquake activity worldwide anytime now or later this week so far. A magnitude 6 or even a 7 or greater could strike somewhere any moment now or sometime this week at this point. Regions that could be of concern in terms of significant earthquake activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Talaud Islands region or Halmahera), Flores and Molucca Sea region, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, or Negros), Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, or Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands(Alaska), New Zealand, Tonga, the Samoas, Solomon Islands, Andaman Islands region, Central Asia, possibly the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region or Southeastern Europe such as Greece or Albania, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Central America..
There also is still a strong chance of more magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California anytime or day now. It might be becoming increasingly more active here. There still could also be more going on in the Ridgecrest area and other parts of California and the Western U.S.

Saturday, November 23, 2019

EQ WATCH: November 23 - Dec. 1, 2019

There is an extremely high chance of major earthquake activity worldwide. I decided not to do what I did in my previous post. I don't know how large an earthquake might be anywhere in the world. Like I said, a magnitude 5 can suddenly grow into a 7. A magnitude 6 or even a 7 or larger may be imminent somewhere any moment now. Regions to watch out for in terms of significant or major earthquake activity include: New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Santa Cruz Islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Talaud Islands), Molucca Sea region, East Timor, Philippines(Mindanao, Negroes, or Luzon), Mariana Islands, Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Kyushu, Hokkaido, Honshu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Western Iran, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Central America, Aleutian Islands(Alaska)..
There is still a very high chance of more magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California as well as other parts of California. There could potentially be something going on in the Pacific Northwest so far. At the same time, it may not be anything. There is also a possibility of something taking place somewhere in the interior West such as Utah. I'm not necessarily implying that it might be a big event, but at least more activity. The chances of mag. 6-7+ worldwide somewhere anytime now or within the next week are very high. I will be updating via Twitter.

November 22, 2019

I decided to use that other icon(red glow) for whenever there is an increased potential for mag. 6+ worldwide at any moment. The second one is used for whenever there is an increased potential for more significant seismic activity in Southern California. At this point, there may not be a lot going on in the world at the moment, but there is a high chance of more mag. 6+ worldwide within the next week. A large quake could even take place somewhere this weekend or even later today.
My Twitter icon for whenever mag. 6+ may be imminent somewhere worldwide

I'm carefully taking this to the next level. I will attempt to determine which regions in the world may most likely experience a large earthquake and places that may have more moderate, yet significant earthquake activity. I cannot be sure where exactly the most energy is coming from and cannot rely entirely on the most recent data. There are places that have been having a lot of activity going on lately, but that does not necessarily mean a larger event might be imminent in those regions.
My Twitter icon whenever there is a higher potential
for more significant quake activity in Southern California

There is a high chance of more mag. 6+ any day now in the world. It could delay to next week or it could occur today or tomorrow. Regions that may be having moderate to strong or major earthquakes include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Talaud Islands, Philippines, Central Asia(Western China, Tajikistan, Afghanistan), Iran, Myanmar(Burma), Andaman Islands region, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Santa Cruz Islands, Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, New Zealand(South and/or North Island), Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, Southern, Central, or Northern Alaska or potentially Yukon Territory, Aleutian Islands, Kanchatka Peninsula, Kuril Islands, Japan, Northern Mariana Islands..
Again, I'm just experimenting with this. This might not be a great idea. Things can go from 0 to 90 in an instant. A magnitude 5.0 can suddenly slip up to a magnitude 6 or 7. The places highlighted in red are active regions that could be potential candidates for the next set of mag. 6+ and the regions highlighted in orange may be candidates for the next set of mag. 5+. I also could have mentioned the Pacific Northwest coast as a candidate for the next set of mag. 5+. There could be more taking place there at any time or day, but there also might not.
There may not be a lot of activity taking place in Southern California right now, but there is still a decent chance of more magnitude 3+ anytime or day now. There still may also be more taking place in the Ridgecrest area as well as other areas of California.

My Plan

I have come to find that every soul fiber of my being belongs to the tectonic forces. I have subjected myself to be something of a puppet as to whatever is going on, whether it be local activity stirring up or big earthquakes all over the world. I have had this going on for a long time. I sealed my fate after my very first trip to California 10 years ago. Every opportunity I have, I will make it known whenever there may be something going on somewhere. I will attempt to sharpen this to where I will try to pinpoint where and attempt to determine when it will likely become more active.
I have been wishing to dedicate as much of my time to this as I possibly can in order to make a difference and even somehow saving lives. If I were multilingual, it would be ideal for I can try communicating through social media to other quake-prone regions, giving them a possible heads- up. I must make it clear that this is a complex, complicated system. I have to distinguish potential significant earthquake activity worldwide from minor local activity here in Southern California. While it may seem overall quiet, it could suddenly become very active somewhere. I normally do not include oceanic ridges for they would be in remote locations and less likely to generate tsunamis, therefor not likely a threat to life and property.
I plan to do some self experimentation. I plan to take notes. I will also be reviewing the difference I have felt in various locations with different compositions of the earth in said locations. When I was living in Florida and would visit Tennessee, I would feel somewhat significantly different for the soil in Tennessee was more firm and composed of a lot of limestone. Florida was composed mostly of loose sand with high water tables. It made me feel somewhat vulnerable and sensitive for energy from faraway quakes would be amplified. Living on a plate boundary here in Southern California causes me to at times feel more aggressive and hot.
Whenever there is more seismic activity increasing or on the verge of increasing, I become more tender. So I may do some things that could test my pain tolerance(nothing harmful or dangerous of course), where I can compare results. I am again, going to dedicate myself to this as much as possible. It could help people be aware ahead of a potentially dangerous event. I have been wanting to do this for a long time.

Update: November 19, 2019

At this point, while more strong earthquake activity somewhere in the world is still of a high potential, there also might not be much taking place for now. There also may not be anymore large earthquake activity going on anywhere this week or perhaps not until 2 weeks from now. I also want to use my alert mode icon more sparingly. I would hate to have it switched on more often than I'm aware of. Earthquakes can happen at any time and nobody can determine exactly when and where the next one will hit and guarantee that it happens at that given date and time in a specific location.
I also decided not to use that other icon for when it becomes more significantly active here in Southern California. I will abandon that action for it is too complicated and can cause confusion and I have to still be connected to what else may be taking place elsewhere in the world. At this point, the next set of strong earthquake activity may delay up to 2-3 weeks. At the same time, it could still act up today. Regions that may be of concern include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Flores and Banda Seas, Halmahera, Talaud Islands, and/or Sulawesi), East Timor, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Bonin Islands, Izu Islands, Honshu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Andaman Islands, Central Asia(the Himalayas, or Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan), Northwestern Iran and Azerbaijan(or possibly Eastern Turkey), potentially the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, New Guinea or Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Central America...
At this point, there still may be more activity increasing in Southern California as well as other parts of the state anytime now or within the next week or two. I will be updating via Twitter or perhaps even make a new post if something changes.

November 16-17, 2019

There is still a very high chance for more large earthquakes somewhere in the world anytime within the next 5 days at this point. There also may not be that much taking place this week, but there is still a strong chance sustaining. Regions that may be under the gun in terms of significant and/or large earthquake activity include: Central Asia(Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Pakistan), Myanmar, Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Halmahera, Talaud Islands), New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, possibly Iceland, possibly Western Turkey, Chile, Peru, Central America..
The seismic activity in Southern California has dropped dramatically over the last 2 days. Earlier in the week, there were over 100 quakes in a day and now it is down to just 19. It could spike back up this week, but at the same time it could remain relatively quiet for now. It is possible the region may be becoming increasingly unstable. I will be monitoring this area closely to find out if it continues to fluctuate significantly or more attention-grabbing activity takes place. There may also be more taking place with the Ridgecrest sequence.

EQ WATCH: November 11/12 - 20, 2019

The chances of major earthquake activity worldwide anytime now or within the next week are extremely high. A major quake is due to take place somewhere at any moment or any day. Places that may be under the threat of significant or major quake activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, or the Halmahera region), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Solomon and Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, possibly New Zealand, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Kuril Islands, Andaman Islands region, Myanmar, China, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Turkey and/or Greece...
There have not been any 7 or higher magnitude quakes in several months. The world is due for a lot more strong activity by now. It could start up anytime now or next week. There is still more seismic activity heating up in Southern California. The magnitudes could start increasing here anytime or within the next week or two so far.
There is an extremely high chance of magnitude 4+ in Southern CA anytime or day now. There also could be more activity taking place elsewhere in California.

Monday, November 4, 2019

EQ WATCH: NOVEMBER 4-12, 2019

Two strong earthquakes have struck Chile and the Tonga region. There is a very high chance of major earthquake activity somewhere anytime now or within the next week. There could be a lot of dangerous activity taking place somewhere at anytime. Regions that may be under the gun include: Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, Indonesia, Andaman Islands region, Myanmar, Western China, the Hindu Kush region, Iran, Turkey or Greece, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, Chile, Argentina Peru, Central America, and/or the Aleutian Islands.
There is due to be a magnitude 7 or greater somewhere at any time. There may or may not be more magnitude 3 or bigger in Southern California at any time. There could also be more activity taking place elsewhere in California and/or other parts of the West. There has also been some activity taking place in the Central and Eastern portion of the U.S.

October 29, 2019

It has been extraordinarily quiet here in Southern California for a while now. The EQs over the last day have dropped down to 12 around the region. There was a 15-hour gap between mag. 1+. If it continues to remain like this through Friday, I hope it stays relatively quiet next week as well because I will be out of town. I really want to be here for when a big one or THE big one happens. It being this quiet is concerning. If this goes on for another week, then there is an even higher chance more serious earthquake activity could follow. Nothing is ever set in stone. I'm watching it closely and will still be watching it from Tennessee next week, praying that the most of the action waits until I come home.
I have been gearing up for this for a while. It may not stay relatively quiet in Southern California that much longer. There could be something going on in Central California now. There were recently 2 magnitude 4.7s in that region - one of them being in the Oakland area. Just now, a magnitude 3.9 occurred South of Hollister - where the second tremor occurred. I would not be so surprised if that segment of the San Andreas fault snaps first - or perhaps a large one along the Calaveras Fault. It in fact, would not really surprise me at all. I started becoming concerned about that region when those twin quakes happened. Before anyone living there gets too alarmed, a large quake also might not happen there at all.
Like I said before, always take precaution just in case it is a precursor to a larger event. If there is a big earthquake up there, then that could set Southern California up for its big one even sooner. That could cause further strain on this segment along the SAF and it could potentially cause a chain reaction. However, it may not happen right away or at all for a while. I'm weighing all these possibilities and scenarios because it feels like the day the big one finally happens in Southern California is in the near future. It may not happen now or even by the end of the year, but it may not be that much longer. I just cannot imagine it being that quiet for many more years.
In terms of the rest of the world, there is still a very high chance of mag. 7+ somewhere anytime or day now. Yesterday, a magnitude 6.6 struck Mindanao(Philippines). Unfortunately, one person was killed. 2 weeks earlier, a mag. 6.4 occurred in the same area. In between there were only a couple of magnitude 6+ - one in the Vanuatu region and one in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Southwest of Liberia(Africa). There is still a very high likelihood for mag. 7+ somewhere in the world within the next 2 weeks or sooner. Regions that could be under the potential threat for dangerous earthquake activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Halmahera, and/or Talaud Islands), Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands(Alaska), Central America, Peru, Chile, Argentina, possibly New Zealand(North Island), Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Loyalty Islands, Andaman Islands region, Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, Greece..
I have also more recently started to pay some additional attention to the Puerto Rico region. There was recently a strong earthquake there and there has been more activity increasing there and surrounding areas of the Caribbean. There also may not be anymore significant activity going on there for now.

October 27, 2019

It has mostly been less than impressive in terms of significant earthquake activity worldwide lately. However, it just now may be showing signs of acting up significantly somewhere. I switched back on my alert mode icon on Twitter. I created a new alert mode icon(shown here) for whenever it becomes more significantly active here in Southern California. So, it may be rare when I use it. I may turn it on whenever more magnitude 4+ quakes start breaking out around here or if there is a swarm that could be raising concern or any unusual activity.

I am not sure if it will be acting up in terms of mag. 3+ around here this week or next week. There is a decent chance of more mag. 3+ in Southern CA anytime or day now. I will be out of state next week. It will be interesting to find out how it will be by mid November. The sequence near Ridgecrest may have died down considerably and there have not been any widely felt aftershocks recently, but there is a good chance of it flaring up again at anytime or within a couple of weeks. That area is not out of the woods yet.
In terms of global earthquake activity, it has been far too quiet for too long. It should start becoming more violently active somewhere by now. A major earthquake within the next 2 weeks is highly likely at this point. It could even happen any moment now somewhere. Regions that may be under concern for significant to potentially major earthquake activity include: Central Asia(such as China), Iran, Turkey, Greece, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Northern Mariana Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Loyalty Islands, possibly New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka peninsula, Aleutian Islands, possibly Alaska, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Central America... If something else changes, I can always update via Twitter.

Update: October 25, 2019

There appear to be no signs of it acting up significantly anywhere right now. However, I will leave my alert icon(Twitter) turned on today because I will be away working. I am keeping it on in case more significant earthquake activity does start up in the world later on. It is due to start acting up violently somewhere. There has not been a major earthquake anywhere in a long time. This stagnant period could either continue on into next week or end anytime now or within the next 3-4 days.
It has also been extremely quiet here in Southern California this week. The day's worth of earthquakes on the real-time data map has remained well below 30. It even got down to about 15. Whenever more large earthquakes finally start occurring in parts of the world, regions of concern include: Central Asia, Andaman Islands region, much of Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Kermadec Islands, Loyalty Islands, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Central America, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Iran, Turkey, and/or Greece..
Those are potential candidates for the next set of significant to major earthquakes. I'm not sure what is next for California. More mag. 3-4+ could strike in Southern CA anytime or day now. It may also not act up at all until next week. It has been a while since our last magnitude 4 or greater. There may or may not be more mag. 4+ aftershocks near Ridgecrest anytime or day now.

EQ Watch: Oct. 23 - Nov 3, 2019

A magnitude 7 or greater somewhere in the world within the next 2 weeks is highly likely. It has not been a particularly active month so far in terms of serious earthquake activity around the world. There had not been a tremor of magnitude 7 or larger anywhere in a while. Especially since there has not been enough taking place worldwide this month, there must be a lot of strong earthquake activity following this relatively quiet period. A particularly large and dangerous event may be imminent somewhere any day now. It could happen tomorrow, 2 or 3 weeks from now, or possibly sometime today.
Potential candidates for significant to large earthquake activity include: Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu, Ryukyu Islands, Bonin Islands), Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, Indonesia(Talaud Islands, Halmahera, Sulawesi, Java, Sumatra), New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, Fiji, Myanmar, Western China and/or other parts of Central Asia, Greece, Turkey, Possibly Italy, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Central America, Kuril Islands, and the Aleutian Islands...
At this point, I'm not sure what is next for Southern California as of right now. It has been extremely quiet over the past 2-3 days. There could be more mag. 3+ taking place later, tomorrow, this weekend, or next week. As for right now, there may not be much taking place out here at all. We could be having a lot more activity taking place within the next 2-3 weeks. There could also be more taking place elsewhere in California any day now or within the next few weeks.

Update: Oct. 16, 2019

A magnitude 6.4 struck Mindanao, Philippines at 7:37 P.M. local time(4:37 A.M. PDT). The epicenter was closest to the town of Paitan and had a focal depth of 8.7 miles(14.1 kilometers). Following the temblor, videos immediately began circulating online on social media of people evacuating shopping malls in cities such as Davao. There is no tsunami risk. The Philippines state news agency has reported some power outages in Koronadal and people being taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Aftershocks are likely, including significant ones. There is also a chance something larger could occur later. At the same time, that might not happen, but the rule of thumb is to be aware and prepared in case a larger event does in fact occur.
The same principle applies anywhere else, including Central California. Two magnitude 4+ quakes occurred over the last day - a magnitude 4.7 in the Bay area near Oakland and another 4.7 Northeast of Gonzales just hours later. The first tremor occurred near the Calaveras Fault system and the other one occurred on the creeping section of the San Andreas Fault which is considered unusual on that segment of the fault. Although there also might not be a larger event in Central CA anytime now, there is still a potential for something potentially large happening. Again, at the same time, it may not happen at all and life will go on. Just be reminded that it is better safe than sorry.
There is still a very high chance of mag. 4+ in Southern California anytime or day now. There is also still a very high chance of mag. 6-7+ in parts of the world any moment or sometime within the next week. The other regions in the world that may be next include: the Talaud Islands, the Molucca Sea region and Halmahera(Indonesia), Sumatra(Indonesia), Papua New Guinea and the Bismarck Sea, the Andaman Islands region, Myanmar, Tajikistan region, Iran, Turkey, Greece, possibly Italy, the Solomon or Santa Cruz Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, the Samoas, the Kermadec Islands, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Central America, the Aleutian Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, the Kuril Islands, and Japan.

October 15, 2019

There are now more signs of serious earthquake activity taking place worldwide any moment or day now so far. Earlier yesterday, it was extremely quiet and then it started up again later in the afternoon(Pacific Daylight Time). Magnitude 6-7+ earthquakes may be imminent any moment now or within the next week ahead. It could also end up skipping another month without a magnitude 7+ anywhere. Potential candidates for the next round of significant to major earthquake activity would include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Halmahera, Talaud Islands), Molucca Sea, Banda Sea, Philippines(Mindanao), Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands, Bonin Islands), Northern Mariana Islands, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula and Komandorskiye Ostrova, Aleutian Islands, possibly the Gulf of Alaska, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Kermadec Islands, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Central America, Tajikistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, and/or possibly Italy..
A particularly big event could be imminent somewhere at any time. Closer to home, a magnitude 4.5 happened near Oakland, CA at around 10:30 last night. While a larger quake there anytime or any day may be possible, there also may not be anything above last night's event.
There may still also be more activity increasing in the Southland as well as in the Mojave. There also may be more noticeable activity taking place in Nevada or Washington and/or Oregon anytime now or later this week or perhaps next week. In Southern California, a magnitude 3.0 occurred near Borrego Springs the other day. A magnitude 4 or larger is still of a very high potential anytime now or within the next week.

Friday, October 11, 2019

Update: October 11, 2019

At this point, the chances of mag. 7+ worldwide any moment now or within the next week are extremely high. A major earthquake or two somewhere within the next two weeks is of a very high likelihood. There may or may not be any significant EQ activity taking place out there today. However, more magnitude 6+ worldwide within the next 5-7 days is highly likely at this point. Potential candidates for the next mag. 6+ EQs: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Halmahera, Sulawesi, Talaud Islands, Molucca Sea, Banda Sea), Celebes Sea, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Ryukyu Islands, Volcano Islands, or Izu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands(Near and Andreanof Islands), Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa or Tonga, New Zealand(North Island), Central Asia(Myanmar or the Tajikistan region), Iran, Turkey, Greece, South Sandwich Islands, Chile(Valparaiso, Coquimbo, Atacama, Antofagasta, Tarapaca or Arica), Argentina(Jujuy, Caramarca, San Juan, or La Rioja), Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico(Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerrero)..
Central America could possibly be under the gun for a particularly large and dangerous earthquake anytime now or sometime in the near future. There has been numerous tremors occurring along the Western Central American coast from Panama to Southwestern Mexico recently. Another region that may be hit with a particularly large event is the area between Halmahera, Indonesia and Mindanao, Philippines. That area consists of the Molucca Sea, Celebes Sea, and Talaud Islands. I have also been shedding new concerns for Sumatra, Indonesia, for there has been a lot of activity taking place up and down the Western coast of the large Island. I'm still focusing on the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region and the Ryukyu Islands. There may still be the possibility of a large event occurring in those areas.
There still might be mag. 3-4+ taking place here in Southern California anytime, any day, or within the next 5-7 days. A magnitude 4+ here anytime or day now is of a very strong chance. There could still be more aftershocks heating up in the Ridgecrest and Searles Valley area. A stronger aftershock anytime or day now is not out of the question. There may potentially be more noticeable earthquakes taking place in Central California and the Mammoth Lakes area and/or Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. There is still a high potential for more mag. 3-4+ in other parts of the West such as Utah, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, and/or Wyoming.

Update: Oct. 9, 2019

So far, there is still little going on in terms of any significant earthquake activity in the world. It may stay quiet for another entire week or it could suddenly act up somewhere at any moment. It has been more than a week since the last magnitude 6 or greater and more than a month since the last magnitude 7 or greater. If it stays stagnant like this through the rest of the week, then a lot more is bound to happen within the next 1-2 weeks at the longest at this point. Regions that may be under the gun include: Celebes Sea, Molucca Sea, Banda Sea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Talaud Islands, or Halmahera), New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand(North Island), Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Ryukyu Islands, Izu, or Volcano Islands), Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Central America, Peru, Chile, Argentina, South Sandwich Islands region, Greece, Turkey, Caspian Sea region, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Northern India, Myanmar, Andaman Islands region..
Those are all the potential candidates for the next round of significant to major earthquake activity in the world. Something major could strike somewhere anytime today, tomorrow, or next week. I also will not be too surprised if it does not act up significantly by next week either. I have seen gaps between mag. 7+ as long as 3-5 months over the last 2 years. However, I strongly doubt that it will be that much longer. Southern California could be having more significant activity around the corner. Right now, more mag. 4+ could take place here anytime now or within the next week. There also still could be more mag. 4+ aftershocks near Ridgecrest and more noticeable activity in other parts of California and the West.

Update: Oct. 6, 2019

While there is due to be a major earthquake taking place somewhere in the world any time now, there might not be that much going on for right now. However, it could still very well act up any moment now at least somewhere. There are also no longer any signs of any activity taking place here in Southern California for right now. It may still heat up later today or it may stay quiet even by tomorrow. There still should be a lot more taking place by now. There is still an extremely high potential for magnitude 3-4+ this week.
There is still also a very high chance of mag. 6-7+ worldwide anytime now or within the next week. Again, it might remain less than particularly active for now. There also may be little taking place at all here in Southern CA, but there still may be more activity heating up again at any moment. Last night when I made my last post, while I was feeling like major quake activity was on the verge of taking place somewhere, there was a sense of doubt that anything serious was going to be taking place yet. I may have switched off my red light on Twitter, but that does not mean that there will be a low risk of large quakes in the world. There still could be something major imminent somewhere at any time.

Saturday, October 5, 2019

EQ Watch: October 6-14, 2019

There is a very high chance of major earthquake activity taking place somewhere in the world any moment now or anytime within the next week. Regions that may be particularly active anytime now include: Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, or Hokkaido), Philippines(Luzon, Mindanao, Negroes), Celebes Sea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Sulawesi, Halmahera, Kepulauan Talaud), Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, possibly New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Mexico(Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerro), Peru, Chile, Argentina, Scotia Sea/South Sandwich Islands, Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan region, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Myanmar(Burma), Andaman Islands..
There is now a very high chance for magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California anytime now within the week ahead. There could also be more mag. 4+ aftershocks in the Ridgecrest area or more activity taking place in the Bay area and Mammoth Lakes. There could also be more mag. 3-4+ taking place in other parts of the Western U.S. such as Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, and/or Utah. I am also just now growing a little more concerned about the possibility of more significant earthquake activity in areas of California - whether it be larger aftershocks with the Little Lake sequence or something going on in the Bay area or other parts of Central CA or Mammoth Lakes. There is due to be much more activity taking place in Southern California anytime or day now or sometime within the next week or two.
As much as it could be acting up all over, it could also suddenly become backed up to where there is little going on for a few days. However, there is due to be a lot of large earthquake activity taking place somewhere in parts of the world.

Update: October 4, 2019

I woke up to see that the real-time earthquakes map was very scarce. It has overall been extremely uneventful all day. There was the exception of a moderate earthquake in Alaska, but other than that, there was very little taking place anywhere else. It was nearly dead here in Southern California. There was a 13-hour gap between mag. 1+ EQs overnight. It remained very quiet throughout the day. However, the activity could start up anytime now. If it stays quiet for now, then a lot more activity may take place by next week. There may be more significant earthquake activity increasing worldwide just now. At the same time, it may also discontinue for another day or two.
There is due to be major earthquake activity somewhere at any time. Regions that may be next for more significant earthquake activity include: Philippines(Negros, Luzon, Mindanao), Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Izu Islands, Volcano Islands, or Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Southern Alaska, Northern Mariana Islands, Papua New Guinea, Molucca Sea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kepulauan Talaud), Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, New Zealand, Scotia Sea, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Central America, Mexico, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Myanmar, China(Xizang, Qinghai, Sichuan, or Yunnan), Andaman Islands..
If it does not act up by now or tomorrow, then more major earthquake activity is likely within the next week or two. More magnitude 6+ should start taking place somewhere at anytime this weekend. While there still may be little taking place here in Southern California for right now, there may be more activity taking place North of the Garlock Fault and elsewhere in the Western U.S. There may be mag. 4+ taking place in Central or Northern California anytime now - this includes the Ridgecrest area and Mammoth Lakes. There may also be mag. 4+ occurring in other parts of the West such as Utah, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming, and/or Idaho. A magnitude 3.0 just now occurred in Utah.
Meanwhile, it may or may not act up in Southern California any moment now, but there might be more mag. 4+ taking place within the week. It could still happen this weekend. There could also be a lot more potentially taking place with the Little Lake aftershock sequence.

October 1, 2019

There still is due to be major earthquake activity taking place worldwide any moment now or within the next week at this point. It may or may not be today or this week, but the chances are still great. Regions that may be under the gun include: Central Asia, Myanmar, Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Halmahera, or Sulawesi), Banda Sea, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, Negros), Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Volcano Islands, Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands and Alaska Peninsula, Central America and Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Scotia Sea region, New Zealand, Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Turkey, and Greece..
There is a very high chance of more magnitude 6+ worldwide somewhere any moment now or this week. There is also a high chance of more magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California this week or anytime now. There may also be more aftershocks of magnitude 3 and above in the Ridgecrest area anytime now or within the week. There may also be more activity taking place in Central and Northern California or other parts of the West such as Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.
In terms of world tectonic activity, there could also be a large volcanic eruption imminent somewhere. Residents usually are warned in advance when a volcano is showing signs of erupting. A volcano just erupted in Papua New Guinea, causing residents to flee.

Update: September 25, 2019

More significant earthquake activity has been increasing worldwide. A magnitude 6 earthquake occurred off the coast of Puerto Rico the other night and shortly after, a magnitude 5.8 struck Pakistan killing 38 people. There is due to be even larger earthquakes taking place in the world at any time. A magnitude 7 or larger anytime now or within the coming week or two is likely. The potential candidates for a major earthquake anytime now include: Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands, Andaman Islands region(North of Sumatra), Central Asia, the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Central America.
The list is never very different. I list all of the Western Ring of Fire because it is always very seismically active. Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Southwestern Pacific, Japan, and Chile are among the most active places. Significant quakes occur in those places most often. An area that is not as active that I have been watching consistently lately is the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region. There have been more earthquakes taking place there lately. I am also just now beginning to watch the Caribbean Sea region since the strong tremor that occurred near Puerto Rico the other day.
Puerto Rico and other Caribbean countries seldom have strong earthquakes. Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic have small quakes all the time - below magnitude 4. It is possible another large quake could occur in that region. I have most recently been aware that some activity has been occurring the the region of South central Siberia and Mongolia. There is a very high chance of more mag. 3-4+ in Southern California any moment now or within the next 5-7 days so far. There is still potentially more to start taking place here.
We should be heading into more active times by now. There may also be more seismic activity occurring elsewhere in California and the Western U.S.

https://twitter.com/SeismicFox1

Saturday, September 21, 2019

EQ WATCH: September 21 - 30, 2019

The chances of major earthquake activity worldwide anytime now or within the next week are extremely high again. It is showing signs of acting up significantly in parts of the world. This also includes volcanic activity in some regions. Regions that may be under the gun for a large earthquake anytime now includes: Indonesia, Banda Sea region, Andaman Islands region, Myanmar, Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy(I'm monitoring the Eastern Mediterranean region and Southeastern Europe more closely now), New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Ryukyu Islands), Northern Mariana Islands, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Russia, Aleutian Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Santa Cruz Islands, Solomon Islands, Kermadec Islands(New Zealand), Chile, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, and Central America..
I'm also beginning to shed some attention to South Central Siberia(near Mongolia) and the possibility of a significant earthquake occurring there. On September 27, 2003, a magnitude 7.3 occurred in that region killing 3, injuring 5, and destroyed around 300 homes. There is also more activity heating up here in Southern California. A magnitude 4 or larger anytime or day now is definitely not out of the question.
There could also be more aftershock activity firing up near Ridgecrest and more activity occurring in other parts of California and the Western U.S. There is also more activity heating up in Oklahoma as well.

Update: September 12, 2019

It actually looks like it is staying quiet longer than I expected before. There has not been one magnitude 6 or greater earthquake over the past week anywhere in the world. However, if it continues like this for another week, then even more large and dangerous earthquake activity is likely within 2-3 weeks. It should have started acting up by now, but it may also stay relatively uneventful for a little while longer. However, there is still a chance that could change at any time. I will be without electricity from 9 AM to 5 PM, so do not expect to see any news from me until this evening whenever everything is back up and running.
There is due to be a lot more going on anytime now in terms of large earthquakes worldwide. Regions of potential concern include: Central America, Ecuador, Colombia or Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, South Sandwich Islands, New Zealand, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, Loyalty Islands, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Ryukyu Islands), Northern Mariana Islands, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Central Asia(Western China, Tajikistan, Northern India, Pakistan or Afghanistan), Iran, Turkey, Greece..
As far as more local activity is concerned, there may or may not be much else taking place here in Southern California. There is still a fairly decent chance for more mag. 3-4+ at any time. However, I will not be surprised if very little occurs today. There is due to be more significant activity in Southern California any day now. It has gotten to that point where it finally feels like the long latent period is coming to an end. If more activity flares up today, I will not be available to tweet anything due to the maintenance power outage that is expected to last for hours. There may also be more activity occurring elsewhere in California and the Western U.S. I am also aware of the activity that has been taking place in Nevada.
There may or may not be anything more significant going on there, but it is better safe than sorry when it comes to being fully aware. I'm not sure what would be next for the Pacific NW of the United States, but it is possible a significant event could occur anytime or day. This would include the Gulf of Alaska. There also may not be anything serious taking place in that region at all, but it is worth monitoring.

Update: September 9, 2019

I apologize that I keep changing my alert mode icon on Twitter. I've been tweaking it and I'm now satisfied with what I have now. Anyway, the glowing red icon is on again. I will be damned if another week goes by without any large tectonic events anywhere in the world. On average, there is one major earthquake(Magnitude 7+) somewhere in the world per month. The last magnitude 7 and above was on July 14th. However, it was close to that with a magnitude 6.9 on August 2nd. There is still due to be a lot of significant activity going on worldwide at any moment or day at this point. A magnitude 7 or higher somewhere this week or next week is once again highly likely.
A major quake could occur somewhere anytime today or tomorrow or sometime this week or perhaps next week at the latest so far. Regions to watch out for include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Flores Sea, Molucca Sea, Halmahera), Philippines(Luzon, Mindanao), Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Santa Cruz Islands, possibly New Zealand(North Island), Andaman Islands region, Myanmar, China(Sichuan, Yunnan), Northern India, Pakistan, Southern Iran, Western Turkey, Greece, possibly Italy, Chile, Peru, Colombia or Venezuela, Central America...
There has also been a lot disturbance going on in Central Africa(Western Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eastern Uganda, Eastern Tanzania, and Western Angola). That could be an area of further concern. Although it also may not have anything else larger happening there, it is better safe than sorry. Africa may not be a continent that has frequent significant earthquakes, but it is capable of having big ones. In 1966, a magnitude 6.8 occurred in Western Uganda which killed 157 people. The earthquake occurred in the Mt. Rwenzori region which is the most seismically active region in Uganda.
It lies in the Western Rift Valley of the East Africa Rift System. In 2005, an earthquake of the same magnitude hit that same region which resulted in 6 casualties. Closer the home, more seismic activity is also showing signs of heating up again in Southern California. There may be more magnitude 3-4+ taking place anytime now or within the next week. Something larger than magnitude 4 is also of a stronger possibility in the coming days or weeks. The Little Lake sequence could also start pumping more magnitude 4 or greater aftershocks. It may not act up much more, but there still could be more taking place up there. There may also be mag. 3-4+ EQs taking place in Central California and the Bay area. I'm also still monitoring the Pacific NW coast in case something more significant occurs there.

Saturday, September 7, 2019

EQ Watch: September 7-14, 2019

There has been more or less significant earthquakes in the world lately. However, a major earthquake or two occurring somewhere is of a very high likelihood anytime now or within the week ahead. There is due to be more large quakes worldwide. Regions of potential concern include: Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Andaman Islands, China(Sichuan, Yunnan), Myanmar(Burma), Tajikistan region, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Ryukyu Islands region(Japan), Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand(North Island), South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Central America..
There might also be more magnitude 4+ in Southern California anytime or day now. There may also be something possibly going on in the Lake Elsinore area. There has been some activity taking place there lately. It is possible something more significant could be around the corner. A magnitude 5 or larger is possible any day now. There could also be more heating up with the aftershock sequence. I want to be careful not to scare anyone. That is not what I am here for. I'm not necessarily implying a large quake is going to happen anytime now. I'm just advising everyone to be more aware of what could be taking place deep below where we stand and rest. It is possible a large event could happen here at any time, but nothing is ever certain.
There may also be more taking place up in the Pacific Northwest. There may or may not be more significant activity going on there very soon. The area off the coast of Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia is capable of a massive earthquake and tsunami. However, a massive quake off the Pacific NW coast may also be unlikely. It is only wise to be more vigilant whenever some significant activity has been occurring.
Again, there is due to be a spike in large quake activity worldwide at any time. If it stays quiet for another week, then even more dangerous activity is likely within the next 2-3 weeks.

Update: August 28, 2019

September may be a more active month for Southern California in terms of earthquakes. There could be more significant aftershocks in the Ridgecrest area and there could be more taking place South of there as well. There have been more micro quakes increasing in Southern California recently. The average number of quakes over the last day used to be 25-30. Now, there are up to 40-50. More activity might be heating up here in Southern CA anytime now. It could also hold off for another week. It has been mostly quiet around the world over the past several days with the exception of one strong earthquake in the South Sandwich Islands region. It was a magnitude 6.6 and it happened yesterday.
A very large earthquake might be imminent somewhere at any moment. It could happen today, tomorrow, or next week perhaps. There is an extremely high chance of magnitude 7+ worldwide any moment or day now. Regions to watch include: Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands(AK), Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Tonga, the Samoas, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Philippines, Andaman Islands, Myanmar(Burma), Western China, Tajikistan region, Afghanistan, Pakistan, possibly Iran, Turkey, Greece..
I'm still monitoring the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region. There may still be a potential for a powerful earthquake to occur there. Other potential candidates include the Ryukyu Islands, Central America, Afghanistan or Pakistan, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Andaman Islands region in the Indian Ocean. More major activity could occur at anytime or it could delay for another week or two.

EQ WATCH: August 25 - September 3, 2019

There is an extremely high potential for magnitude 7 or greater worldwide any moment now or within the next week at this point. There have been some significant earthquakes taking place in parts of the world over the last few days. There is due to be a bigger event any time now. Regions that could be under the gun include: Indonesia, Japan, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands(Japan), Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, or Kyushu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, possibly New Zealand, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Andaman Islands, Central Asia(Western China, Tajikistan, Afghanistan), possibly Iran, Turkey, Greece, South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, and/or Central America..
There is also activity taking place in the Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge. I often leave out the Oceanic Ridges because they are underwater and remote regions. Divergent boundaries are less threatening when it comes to tsunamis. Convergent underwater boundaries would be much more dangerous as they are the boundaries capable of the largest earthquakes and generate tsunamis. Closer to home, there might be more aftershocks taking place with the Little Lake sequence once more. There is still a very high chance for more activity in Southern California. There could be a magnitude 4 or greater somewhere in Southern CA anytime now within the next week or two. The Greater Los Angeles area could even feel something within the coming week or two or perhaps any day. It could possibly even happen tonight or even minutes to an hour from now. I do not necessarily mean anything significant, so do not be alarmed.
There just could potentially be something felt by many residents somewhere here in Southern California anytime or day now at this point.
There may also be more magnitude 3-4+ elsewhere in California as well as other areas of the West such as Montana and the Yellowstone area.

EQ WATCH: Update - 8/18/19

There is a very high chance now for magnitude 6-7 or greater worldwide. A strong or major earthquake is of a high likelihood anytime now within the next 5 days so far. After an extremely quiet past few days, a magnitude 5.9 occurred in the Northern Mariana Islands region. The regions that may be under the gun include: Central Asia(Western China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, or Afghanistan), the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region(Greece or Turkey), Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, or Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Indonesia, Andaman Islands, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, South Sandwich Islands, and/or possibly the coast of British Columbia.
There could potentially be something more significant looming along the Pacific Northwest Coast. There is also an extremely high chance of magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California anytime or day now. We are due for another round of activity. Something more significant could be on the horizon at this point. There is also a very high potential for activity elsewhere in California such as the Ridgecrest area, Mammoth Lakes, the Bay area, and/or Lake Tahoe.
There may also be more activity taking place in parts of Alaska(Mag. 4+) anytime now or within the next week.

EQ WATCH: August 14 - 25, 2019

At this point, there may or may not be any large and violent earthquake activity going on worldwide somewhere. While a magnitude 6 or greater may occur somewhere at anytime, it may hold off for now. However, there is an extremely high chance of a magnitude 7 or greater somewhere anytime within the next week. It even happen any time now. At the same time, it could delay another week or so. Potential places under the gun include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, or Sulawesi, Flores Sea), New Guinea or Papua New Guinea, East Timor/Banda Sea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand(South Island), Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Ryukyu Islands), Kamchatka Peninsula, parts of Central Asia including China, Northern India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, potentially somewhere in the Northern Atlantic such as Svalbard, Iceland, or Reykjanes Ridge, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, and Central America..
Note that some of these mentioned areas of the world may be potential hosts for the next strong earthquake activity. This does not imply that all of these places could go off at once. A large quake may occur somewhere anytime now or a week or 2 weeks from now. A magnitude 7 or greater somewhere within the next week or two is highly likely. If it doesn't happen today or by Friday, it will likely be next week or perhaps the week after that.
The areas in particular that I have been concerned about recently include the Ryukyu Islands(or anywhere between Northern Taiwan and Southern Japan, the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region(includes Eastern Turkey and Southern Greece), Central Asia(Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Northwestern China), Central America, and the Northern Mariana Islands. In terms of activity in Southern California, there is still a very high chance of magnitude 3 or greater anytime or day now. However, there may not be that much taking place for now, perhaps until this weekend or next week.
Another round of activity is due here. Something more significant could potentially be on the rise within the next 2 weeks or possibly sooner. Right now, there may be little taking place, but we are due for more activity. There is also a very high chance for more magnitude 3-4+ elsewhere in California. There could be something potentially heating up in the Mammoth Lakes area. There may also be activity increasing in other parts of the Western States including Nevada, the Yellowstone area, and/or the Pacific Northwest.

EQ WATCH: August 8-16th, 2019

There is a very high likelihood of magnitude 7 or greater somewhere in the world anytime now to within the next week. There could also be more significant volcanic activity taking place somewhere. A powerful earthquake somewhere may be imminent any moment now or within the next 1-2 weeks at this point. I have determined the candidates for the next possible major earthquake or more strong earthquake activity: Ryukyu Islands(the region between Northeastern Taiwan and Southwestern Japan), possibly the Eastern Mediterranean region from Greece to Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, possibly Iran, Myanmar(Burma), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Halmahera), East Timor, the Philippines(Mindanao, Samar, Luzon), Taiwan, Japan(Hokkaido and/or Honshu) Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands, Papua New Guinea, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, Kermadec Islands(NZ), Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, possibly Colombia, Central America..
The regions in particular that I am watching more closely now are the Ryukyu Islands or the area between Northeastern Taiwan and Southwestern Japan, the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region(from Greece to Western Turkey), and the Afghanistan and Pakistan region. There has been more significant activity taking place in those areas most recently. However, the next major earthquake in the world may also not hit any of the 3 named regions.
It can also likely occur somewhere else.
The Ryukyu Trench is capable of a very large, tsunamigenic earthquake. It also is known to have a number of active volcanoes. The most recent earthquakes that have occurred in the area have raised concerns. Meanwhile, closer to home, there have not been any large aftershocks from the Little Lake sequence since last month. That does not mean that it is over at all. There is also due to be more activity heating up here in Southern California anytime or within the next week.

EQ WATCH: July 31 - August 10, 2019

More large earthquake activity worldwide is likely on the rise now. A magnitude 6.6 just occurred in the Vanuatu region. There is an extremely high chance of magnitude 7 or higher worldwide any moment now or within the next 7-10 days at this point. Regions to watch out for include: Greece/Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, Western Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, possibly Western China, Myanmar, Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi) Molucca Sea and Flores Sea region, East Timor, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Loyalty Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka peninsula, Aleutian Islands(AK), Central America(especially El Salvador), Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina..
Almost all of the listed regions are places that are active quite often and have experienced a number of large quakes in recent years. I'm eyeing Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region now. There has been more activity than usual taking place there lately. This may include Eastern Turkey. Major metropolitan areas would include Athens and Istanbul. A large quake may also not happen at all there. It is just a place of possible concern at this point.
In terms of activity in Southern California, so far, more or less. More mag. 3-4+ is due here anytime or within the next week or two. Something more significant could be around the corner. However, there have been 4-6 hour gaps between mag. 1+ EQs here in Southern California South of the Tehachapi Mountains. The activity here has been somewhat low this week, but it could ramp back up again at any time.
There also could potentially be more sizeable aftershocks in the Little Lake sequence anytime now or later into the weekend. There could also be more activity taking place in the Pacific Northwest as well as Southern Nevada.

Sunday, July 21, 2019

EQ WATCH: July 21 - 31, 2019

There is now a heightened chance for magnitude 6-7 or greater worldwide somewhere within the next week or anytime now. There are currently more signs of significant activity taking place in some active regions of the world. Regions to watch include: Northern Mariana Islands(Guam), Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Indonesia, Central Asia(Tajikistan, Afghanistan, or Pakistan region), Myanmar(Burma), Andaman and Nicobar Islands region, Japan, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, potentially New Zealand(North Island), Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Central America, possibly the coast anywhere from Northern California to British Columbia, Aleutian Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Kuril Islands, Southern Greece..
The aftershock sequence has died down here in California considerably. That does not mean there will not be anymore significant earthquakes here for a while. It could still start up again. There is also due to be more magnitude 4+ in Southern California(not related to the Ridgecrest Sequence) anytime now or within the next week or two. There may also be more seismic activity taking place elsewhere in the Western U.S. such as Nevada, Montana, or Idaho.

Thursday, July 11, 2019

EQ WATCH: July 11-12, 2019

So far, there is an extremely high chance of more large earthquakes worldwide any moment now or within the next week. A magnitude 6.0 struck the Papua New Guinea region earlier and more strong EQs may be on the rise somewhere in parts of the world. Regions of concern include: Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Central Asia, Santa Cruz Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, potentially New Zealand, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Kuril Islands, South Sandwich Islands region, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Central America..
Meanwhile, there may still be more activity taking place here in California. The Little Lake sequence has been dying down in terms of bigger aftershocks, but the area is not out of the woods yet. There is still a potential for more significant aftershocks anytime or day now. There may not be that much activity taking place elsewhere in California, but there is a high potential for magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California any moment now, this weekend, or next week.

EQ Advisory: July 7-8, 2019

There continues to be aftershocks from Friday's magnitude 7.1 near Ridgecrest and Trona. A magnitude 6.9 occurred in the Molucca Sea region earlier, prompting a tsunami warning to be issued. There is still a very high chance for more major earthquake activity worldwide. Areas of concern include Indonesia, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands region, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, Central Asia, Central America, Chile, Peru, Tonga, Fiji, Santa Cruz Islands, Alaska's Aleutian Islands, the coast of British Columbia.. There is still a potential for strong aftershocks in California. There might also be more activity taking place in Southern California unrelated to the Little Lake sequence. There is an extremely high likelihood of a magnitude 4 or higher quake somewhere South of the Tehachapi Mountains any moment now or within the week ahead at this point. Numerous tiny quakes are popping up all over Southern CA in addition to the Little Lake sequence.

EQ Watch: June 29-July 13

The chances of more major earthquake activity worldwide any moment now or within the next couple of weeks are extremely high again. It has been becoming more significantly active throughout parts of the world. This may include more dangerous volcanic activity taking place somewhere. Places of concern in terms or significant of large earthquake activity include: Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Central America, Kamchatka Peninsula, Kuril Islands, Japan, Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, the Southwestern Pacific region(Vanuatu, Tonga, the Samoas, Santa Cruz Islands, Fiji), Indonesia, Andaman Islands region, Myanmar(Burma) possibly Western China, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan or Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Southern Greece, and the South Sandwich Islands region..
I'm plan on switching my icon on Twitter to a glowing one whenever it starts to become more significantly active. It will be tricky having to switch it on and off, but I'm taking it to a new level. I would have to have it turned off whenever it seems overall quiet around the world, but suddenly acts up somewhere. I guess I will initially put it on alert mode as it may be becoming more dangerously active as more quakes are firing up around the globe.
Meanwhile, there is a very high chance for more magnitude 3-4+ here in Southern California anytime or day now so far or within the next week. There may also be more taking place along the Pacific Northwest Coast. It may not necessarily be a potentially large event, but there has recently been activity taking place in that region.

Saturday, June 15, 2019

EQ Watch: June 15 - 23

There is now an extremely high chance of magnitude 6-7+ somewhere in the world anytime now or within the next 1-2 weeks. A major earthquake taking place somewhere within the next 2 weeks is highly likely. A magnitude 6.5 struck Coquimbo, Chile on Thursday, but fortunately there were no victims. Regions to watch include: Northern Mariana Islands, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China(Xizang, Qinghai, or Sichuan), Andaman and Nicobar Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, or Halmahera), Mayotte, New Guinea and Papua New Guinea, Santa Cruz Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, possibly New Zealand(North or South Island), Southern Greece or Western Turkey..
There is still activity continuing in Southern California so far. There may still be more to come. More magnitude 4 or larger are still of a strong chance within the week or next 2 weeks. There may also be more activity taking place in Central and/or Northern California as well so far.
