Update: 4/30/21

At this point, there may be a short pause in global activity before it becomes more active in parts. There may be hardly anything going on anywhere today. At the same time, there is still a very high chance for a large earthquake somewhere any time or day now. Late yesterday, a mag. 5.5 occurred in the Kermadec Islands region. However, for now, the activity around the world may be decreasing where there is little going on. It could stay like that over the next 2-3 days. At the same time, it could suddenly heat back up again later on today.

New EQ Watch: 4/29-5/5/21

More significant earthquake activity has continued in parts of the world. The biggest one that happened yesterday was a magnitude 5.9 in the Kermadec Islands. As I speculated before, there has been some activity taking place off the Pacific Northwest Coast. A magnitude 5.4 occurred off the coast of Oregon early this morning. There have been many aftershocks. There is now a very high potential for mag. 6-7 or greater in the world anytime now within the next 5-6 days at this point. There is a very high potential for a major earthquake in the world any time or any day now so far. Regions that may be under the gun would include: Northern India, the Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Banda Sea region), Papua New Guinea, the Batan and Babuyan Islands region(Philippines), Ryukyu Islands(Japan), possibly Taiwan, the Northern Mariana Islands region, Tonga, Fiji, Kermadec Islands, Vanuatu, Chile.. There is a possibility of a larger event taking place off the Pacific Northwest coast and that earthquake this morning potentially being a foreshock. At the same time, it may not happen at all, but it is better to keep your guard up in case a large event does occur. There still may be some more seismic activity occurring in Southern California or other parts of the state such as the Bay area. There may also be more activity occurring in other parts of the Western U.S. such as Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. There could also potentially be some activity taking place in other parts of the U.S. Again, the chances of a major earthquake in the world within the week ahead are very high so far.

Update: 4/28/21

A magnitude 6.0 struck India's Assam state on Wednesday causing damage, but no immediate reports of casualties. One person has been reported to have been seriously injured. There may still be some more significant earthquake activity going on in the world this week. Closer to home, there was a surge in seismic activity in Southern California and a number of quakes in West Texas. There is also more aftershock activity increasing in Nevada again and there may be some more activity occurring across the country.

Update: 4/27/21

There has been a number of moderate to significant earthquakes in the world over the last day. The largest that has occurred over the past 24 hours was a magnitude 5.9 in Papua New Guinea. The activity may be settling down for right now, but it could jump back up again today. There is still a high chance of more serious earthquake activity going on somewhere in the world any time now this week. Other regions that could be under the gun may include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, or Banda Sea region), Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands region, possibly the Pacific NW coast or Gulf of Alaska, Philippines, Central America, Central Asia(Western China, the Hindu Kush Mountains region, Northern Pakistan)..

Update: 4/24/21

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck the Fiji region yesterday. There have not been reports of damage or injuries to nearby communities. It occurred underneath the ocean and it was very deep. Large quakes in that region are often very deep. The levels of activity around the globe are high. There is still a very high potential for more strong earthquake activity somewhere out there. Other regions to watch out for would include: Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Peru, Chile, South Sandwich Islands region, Papua New Guinea, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, or the Batan Islands region), Izu Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Indonesia(Sulawesi, Banda Sea, Sumatra, Java), Andaman and Nicobar Islands region, Turkey or Greece region..

New EQ Watch: 4/23-30/21

The activity levels around the world are higher now, but there still has not been anything of magnitude 5 and above anywhere over the last 24 hours. There is now a very high potential of some strong earthquake activity this weekend or next week. More magnitude 6+ earthquakes by the end of this month, early next month are highly likely. There is even a high chance of a magnitude 7 or greater within that time frame. Regions around the world to watch may include: Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, or the Batan Islands area), Northern Mariana Islands, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Banda Sea region), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Fiji, Kermadec Islands region, Loyalty Islands, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Central America, Greece, or Turkey. While the threat of a large earthquake somewhere any time or day now is high again, there also still may not be a lot going on just yet. It still very well could heat up today or this weekend.

Update: 4/20/21

Yesterday, a magnitude 6.0 occurred in the Nias region of Indonesia(off the western coast of Sumatra). So far, there were no reports of damage or injuries. There still may a high threat looming somewhere out there. There is still a high potential for more strong earthquake activity in the world somewhere any time now or within the next few days. It could even spike to where a magnitude 7 or greater could occur somewhere in the world this week. Places of potential concern may include: the Northern Mariana Islands, East Timor, Indonesia, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, or Batan Islands region), Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, Japan(Hokkaido), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Andaman and Nicobar Islands region, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Central America, Chile..

Update: 4/18/21

A magnitude 5.8 struck South Central Iran hours ago. It struck the Southern Province of Bushehr, where a nuclear power plant is located, but there have been no immediate reports of significant damage. However, there are reports of at least 5 people injured. Earlier, twin magnitude 5.6 earthquakes occurred off Japan's Miyagi Prefecture. They occurred 13 seconds apart. There continues to be a very high chance of large earthquake activity worldwide. Iran may still be under the gun. Other regions to watch may include: Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Colombia, Peru, Chile, the Aleutian Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Greece, Turkey, Northern Mariana Islands.

EQ Watch: 4/17-23/21

Now would be the right time to make a new post. I jumped a little too soon a few days ago as it looked like it was about to become more active in the world, but at the same time, it was not going to be so active yet. Now there is a very high chance of magnitude 6 or larger in the world somewhere any time now or within this week ahead. Regions that could be of concern would include: the Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Kuril Islands, Japan(Hokkaido), Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Seram, or Halmahera), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, China(possibly other parts of China besides Western China), Pakistan, Kermadec Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Ecuador, Colombia, Central America.. Again, those are a list of potential candidates for the next set of significant activity. I'm not implying that it could act up everywhere at once. There may also be more mag. 4+ in Alaska. There has also been more activity occurring across the United States. Some more seismic activity could be flaring up around California as well as Idaho, West Texas, and Oklahoma. A few very small quakes have occurred in Western and Eastern Tennessee and North Carolina. They were too small to be felt, but there could be something interesting taking place on this side of the country. Again, the chances of magnitude 6+ in parts of the world are very high anytime or day now. There is even a chance of a magnitude 7 or larger somewhere any time or day now.

Outlook: 4/12/21

There were signs of it becoming very active in the world earlier yesterday, but then it stopped to where there has been very little going on today. It could remain relatively quiet today or maybe even tomorrow. There should, however, be much more activity taking place worldwide by this weekend if it pushes into tomorrow and Wednesday. There may be a lot of significant earthquake activity within the next week. There should be much more going on by next week if little takes place throughout this week. There is a chance a significant event could occur somewhere today or tomorrow, but not anything too large yet. There is always a chance that can change. There could suddenly be a lot of activity going on in the world later on today and a major earthquake somewhere cannot be ruled out. At this point, as long as it is staying quiet, there should be much more going on this weekend or next week.

Update: 4/10/21

Three magnitude 6+ earthquakes have occurred in the world over the past 7 hours. A mag. 6.0 occurred off the southeastern coast of Java, Indonesia. A magnitude 6.1 occurred south of the Philippines and another magnitude 6 occurred in the Bismarck Sea near the northeast coast of Papua New Guinea. There is still a very high chance for more strong earthquake activity in the world. Other areas that may be under threat might include: Ryukyu Islands(Japan), Greece or potentially other parts of southeastern Europe, Central America, Vanuatu, Chile.. There has been more activity going on in Southern California this week. There may also be more activity occurring in other parts of the U.S. once more. There has been more earthquakes occurring in Texas and Eastern New Mexico and Oklahoma. There have also been a couple of micro quakes near the New Madrid Seismic Zone. There may be more activity taking place in Northern California as well as the Pacific NW coast/British Columbia.

New EQ Watch: 4/6-12/21

There is now an increased potential for more large earthquakes worldwide anytime now within the next several days. Regions that may be of most concern would include: Papua New Guinea, East Timor, the Northern Mariana Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Sulawesi, Molucca Sea region, Banda Sea region), Bangladesh/northeastern India, Myanmar, Pakistan, Northern Iran, Tonga, New Zealand, Volcano Islands region(Japan), Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Chile.. This of course does not indicate that I'm implying that it may act up in all these listed places at once. Those would be candidates for the next set of significant activity in the world. There could also potentially be something going on off the coast of British Columbia or the Gulf of Alaska. There has been some more activity occurring there recently.

Update: 4/1/21

A magnitude 6.5 struck the Kermadec Islands region several hours ago. It was likely part of the aftershock sequence after the region recently had a major earthquake. There has been more activity on the rise out there. There is an extremely high chance of more magnitude 6 or greater somewhere any time now within the next 5-7 days. There is a high likelihood of a strong earthquake somewhere by this weekend. Regions that could be of caution would include: the Adriatic Sea region, Greece, China(Xizang), Myanmar, the Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, the Banda Sea region, or Talaud Islands), Philippines(Mindanao), East Timor, New Zealand(North Island), Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, Japan(Hokkaido), Northern Mariana Islands, or Central America.. More activity has occurred in Texas and Oklahoma and a magnitude 3.0 occurred in Northwestern Louisiana, NW of Shreveport. More activity may be taking place in Southern California today/this weekend. There may also be more taking place in Central or Northern California.
