A magnitude 6.5 struck the Kermadec Islands region several hours ago. It was likely part of the aftershock sequence after the region recently had a major earthquake. There has been more activity on the rise out there. There is an extremely high chance of more magnitude 6 or greater somewhere any time now within the next 5-7 days. There is a high likelihood of a strong earthquake somewhere by this weekend. Regions that could be of caution would include: the Adriatic Sea region, Greece, China(Xizang), Myanmar, the Andaman Islands region, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, the Banda Sea region, or Talaud Islands), Philippines(Mindanao), East Timor, New Zealand(North Island), Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, Japan(Hokkaido), Northern Mariana Islands, or Central America.. More activity has occurred in Texas and Oklahoma and a magnitude 3.0 occurred in Northwestern Louisiana, NW of Shreveport. More activity may be taking place in Southern California today/this weekend. There may also be more taking place in Central or Northern California.
