March 31, 2020

So far, there is very little taking place in the world at all in terms of serious earthquake activity. It could remain very quiet all day or it could suddenly act up later this evening. There is due to be more strong earthquakes in the world within the next week or sooner. It could suddenly become very active within hours or later this week. Other than that, there is no telling how long it is going to stay like this. It changes all the time, yet it can end up staying extremely quiet for an extended amount of time. However, April might be a much more active month.
Since March was overall so quiet, there likely will be much more serious activity on the rise following that. There also should be more taking place in Southern California within the coming week or any day now. There has not been enough going on here for a while either.

EQ WATCH: 3/21/20

There has not been a lot going on all day, but the potential for major earthquake activity worldwide within the next week are extremely high. There is now a high likelihood of a major earthquake or two somewhere in the world sometime before the end of this month. However, I will not be surprised if there are no mag. 7+ anywhere before this month is over. At the same time, a massive earthquake could hit somewhere at any moment. Regions to watch out for include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi), Papua New Guinea, Philippines(Luzon), Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Kyushu, Honshu, or Hokkaido, Ryukyu Islands, Izu and Bonin Islands), New Zealand, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, China(Xizang), Pakistan or Iran, Turkey, Greece, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, Aleutian Islands, Kuril Islands...
The Gulf of Alaska is another potential area that could have a significant event anytime now. There could be serious volcanic activity going on somewhere. Closer to home, there may be more heating up out here in California and other parts of the Western U.S. There may not be much taking place here in Southern California right now, but there is a very high chance of magnitude 3+ anytime or day now.

Outlook: 3/14 - 21/20

There has just now been some more signs of serious earthquake activity taking place worldwide. It was actually late last night when the energy started picking up after an extremely uneventful day. Overnight, there was a magnitude 6.3 that occurred in the Kermadec Islands region(New Zealand). So far, more significant earthquake activity may be on the rise again worldwide at any moment. However, it could delay into next week when more serious activity occurs. A magnitude 7 or greater is of a very high chance within the week ahead.
Regions that may be candidates for the next round of large earthquakes include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Banda Sea region), Papua New Guinea, Northern Mariana Islands, Japan(Bonin Islands, Izu Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Honshu, or Hokkaido), Andaman Islands region, China(Xizang or possibly Sichuan or Yunnan), Turkey, Greece, Tonga, Solomon or Santa Cruz Islands, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, Central America, and possibly the Pacific Northwest or British Columbia(or Gulf of Alaska)..
Meanwhile, there has not been very much going on here in Southern California at all lately. It could start warming up again by now, but it may not until next week. More magnitude 4+ are due here any day now. There also may be more activity flaring up around other parts of California and the Western United States.

March 11, 2020

I'm afraid the recent new alert level icons(Twitter) may have been a little too confusing. I had to reform them to where it is easier to follow up on whatever is going on. I included an icon depicting a sleeping fox which indicates that there is almost nothing going on anywhere. The next level depicts an alerted fox with one exclamation point. That means that there is a heightened chance for more strong earthquake activity in the world. It can also signify more activity warming up in Southern California. The next one is the same picture, but the fox has acquired a firey red glow with 2 exclamation points.

That signifies a very high chance for strong to major earthquake activity worldwide at any time or any day. I may also use it to indicate a higher potential for magnitude 4+ in Southern California. The last icon is a bright red silhouette with 3 exclamation points which would indicate more significant earthquake activity in Southern California or a heightened potential for magnitude 5+ in the region. I have been attempting to be a little more specific. It has been switched on and off of the red tinted icon where it may not work so well at all and it was looking like it was turned on red most of the time.

I know big earthquakes don't happen everyday. I have been attempting to trust my gut feeling. It is not easy. I have been afraid of taking a chance by switching off of level 2 alert mode when going to bed and something large occurring somewhere in the world overnight. I have been working on taking this to the next level. So far, there is a high chance of mag. 6+ worldwide anytime now. However, it could delay more into this weekend or perhaps next week. A lot more significant activity, including the potential for mag. 7+ in  the world somewhere is of a high likelihood within the next week.

There also should be more magnitude 3-4+ in Southern California any day now. If it does not act up this week, then there might be a lot more going on by next week. It should not stay quiet that much longer here. It has been less than active long enough.

March 9, 2020

I know that I have changed the design of my icon as well as my logo on Twitter a few times, but I decided to try a new system. Just relying on switching the fox from glowing red and back depending on the activity around the world is not enough. I want to try to be more specific about what is or what may be going on. If this turns out to be too complicated, then I can switch back to the way I was doing it before.

I sort of made "chibi" foxes for a cuter look as it makes people feel less alarmed. The last thing I want to do is scare the pants off of everyone. I notice that is how they do it in Japan. The alarm systems there don't consist of extremely harsh honking or screeching sounds or bells(according to footage taken during a large earthquake there). People find earthquakes particularly terrifying and they would not want to be haunted by a deafening horrible-sounding horn every time one happens.

I'm afraid that my other system would create a "boy who cried wolf" effect. Earthquakes do not always happen every time energy picks up. I end up having to turn the code red off. I am currently using the icon where the fox is sitting or resting because there has not been much going on out there in terms of significant earthquakes today so far. The second one where the fox is standing and appearing more alert(with an exclamation point) is whenever the activity is increasing and potentially on the verge of becoming violently active somewhere.

The third one depicts the fox on the run with 2 exclamation points is when strong to major earthquake activity is occurring or there being a high likelihood that a major quake is imminent somewhere at any moment. For more activity taking place in Southern California and the surrounding areas, the second and third icons are highlighted in red. Level 1 code red is when more magnitude 3s and 4s are going on and level 2 means more significant activity is or might be taking place.

March 6, 2020

So far, there has not been much significant activity going on in the world over the last 2 weeks. There should be much more going on anytime now. It could push into next week, but there may suddenly be a big event somewhere out there at any moment. Regions that may be candidates for the next large quakes include: Indonesia, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, Batan and/or Babuyan Islands), China(Xizang, Xinjiang, Yunnan, or Sichuan), Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Japan, Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, the Azores region, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico..
At this point, the activity could remain overall low for now. It can still increase dramatically at any moment. If it stays quiet like this all weekend, then more large quake activity is of a very high chance next week. A magnitude 7 or greater is of a high potential now. There is still more seismic activity warming up in Southern California.
More magnitude 3+ this weekend or next week is of a very high chance again.

Update: March 2, 2020

The activity around the world has dropped so far. There may not be any serious activity going on anywhere at all for now. However, that could change later today or even this morning. It could become extremely quiet, but then become very active later. At least within the next week, there is a heightened likelihood of mag. 7 or greater worldwide. There could end up being much more going on later today or tomorrow. Regions that could be the next to have significant earthquake activity include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Halmahera, Molucca Sea region, Banda Sea), East Timor, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon, Batan or Babuyan Islands), Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, Japan(Izu Islands, Bonin Islands, Honshu, Hokkaido), Andaman Islands region, Western China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Santa Cruz Islands, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, South Sandwich Islands region, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, Aleutian Islands, Kuril Islands..
As far as more activity here is concerned(Southern California), there should be more magnitude 3-4+ taking place anytime or day now. However, it might stay quiet for now. It has been extremely uneventful this weekend. There is due to be much more taking place within the next week or so. There also may be more going on in other parts of California. In terms of big earthquakes in the world, it could stay quiet for now, but it could also suddenly become very active anytime now or later today. If it continues to be this quiet all day, then major earthquake activity somewhere may be on the rise within the week ahead.
