Update: 7/12/22

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck 84 km ESE of Port-Vila, Vanuatu late yesterday(U.S. Central Daylight Time). There have been several earthquakes in the mid to upper magnitude 5 range in that region. Lately, I have titled many of these posts as reports with some as updates like this one. Usually, a report is what immediately follows a strong earthquake somewhere and/or if it is a potentially serious and life-threatening situation. Significant earthquakes are common in that part of the world and there is usually no significant damage or loss of life expected unless it is something particularly large. There still might be a lot going on this week or any time now. It has again, been a while since there has been a major surge in global seismic activity.
