A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck the Fiji Islands region about 6 hours ago. The focus was quite deep. It had a depth of 562.5 km. It could not have caused any serious damage to land nearest to the epicenter. The second largest earthquake to occur over the last 24 hours was a magnitude 5.6 in Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula. There are still elevated levels of seismic activity worldwide. Another strong earthquake within the next two days is of a high potential. Other regions to watch might include: Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Banda Sea region), the Kermadec Islands, Papua New Guinea, Micronesia, Japan, the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka Peninsula.. I'm also still mindful of something possibly going on in the Barbados region(eastern Caribbean.
