New EQ Watch: 4.7-15.23

There now may be more going on again out there. There is now a heightened potential for more strong earthquake activity in the world any time now within the week ahead so far. There is already some more activity going on out there. A magnitude 5.8 already struck south of the Kamchatka Peninsula(Russia). I'm trying to get better at determining which places may likely act up next. The USGS live data map is my go-to. I have referred to that site for years, since this all began. It has various settings where you can see the latest earthquakes over the past 24 hours, to past week, to a month. The orange dots and circles indicate the earthquakes that have occurred over the past 24 hours, yellow shows the past week, and white shows the ones that have occurred over the past month. I try gathering data by surveying not only the most recently active areas, but further back. There have been times where I watched an area that looked like it was becoming more active, then when there would not be anything else going on for a while after that, I forgot about it and focused on another area that showed signs of becoming more active. Lo and behold, a major earthquake strikes that area that was previously starting to act up. That was the case with Turkey. It is not easy keeping up with multiple places around the world at once. For example, there was some interesting activity taking place in Italy and parts of southeastern Europe, but there has not been anything going on in either of those places over the past week. So far, the regions I'm suspecting may act up any time now include: Central America, Colombia, Peru, Fiji region, Tonga, Bismarck Sea(Papua New Guinea), Indonesia(Nias region, Sumatra), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Japan, Kuril Islands.. I also will not be surprised if the Philippines acts up again. Meanwhile, some more minor activity has been occurring in the Central and Eastern United States lately. There were a number of small earthquakes in Oklahoma yesterday. Some more seismic activity has been occurring in western Texas as well. There could also be some more activity, possibly magnitude 3-4+ in Eastern California and/or Nevada. More activity in other parts of California and the west is not out of the question anytime now this week.
