A magnitude 7.3 struck the Tonga region three hours ago. The quake was approximately 211 km ESE of Neiafu, Tonga. There was initially a tsunami advisory issued. It has now been cancelled. It had a focal depth of 24.8 km, but this earthquake did not likely cause problems to the affected region. It was far from land and significant earthquakes in that part of the world are quite common. There still may be more to come. On a small scale, a magnitude 3.2 struck the NMSZ at 9:30 last night. It was near the town of Tiptonville in northwestern Tennessee. A couple of new smaller earthquakes have occurred in that area overnight. In terms of the rest of the world is concerned, I still have northern Italy on my list of places to watch more. There has been signs of more taking place there. Other potentially active areas would include parts of central Asia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan(Hokkaido region), the Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, Peru, Bolivia, Chile..
