Outlook: December 2022

So far, it looks like the global seismic activity has finally settled down for now. There is not a lot happening now so far. It could remain generally quiet for the next few days. At the same time, it could get active again somewhere any day now. It could even change today. I'm struggling to process it all today. It feels like the next wave of strong earthquake activity could be within the next few weeks or sooner. There could be a quiet period between now and the middle of December. At this point, it could become very quiet and then become intensely active. The biggest earthquake of the year could be among the next set of significant seismic events in the world. The largest earthquake that has happened this year so far was magnitude 7.6. Usually there is one great earthquake per year(magnitude 8+). However, there are years where a magnitude 8 or greater doesn't happen anywhere and the biggest that happened was magnitude 7.9 or 7.8. There has been some moderate activity flaring up in the Northern Mariana Islands region most recently. Other potential candidates for the next big earthquake would include the Kuril Islands region, central Asia, Italy, Turkey, and Indonesia. Italy is not among the most active places on Earth, but it has been showing signs of becoming more active lately. The next large earthquake could be any day now or within the next 2 weeks. As of right now, the world may be having a break after a spell of frequent large earthquakes. It can suddenly change, but so far, it may remain overall quiet. There are a few places that could have more activity going on, but there may not be anything huge going on yet. I will keep the world posted if something changes. I will be ready to go.
