Report: 1.18.23


An earthquake measuring magnitude 7.0 struck 154 km NW of Tobelo, Indonesia just hours ago. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the northern Molucca Sea with a depth of 48 kilometres. A tsunami warning was issued, but later cancelled. Although it caused panic to nearby residents, there were no reports of serious damage or injuries. Just less than 6 hours earlier, a magnitude 6.0 struck eastern Sulawesi, Indonesia. Again, there haven't been reports of damage or injuries. There was also a magnitude 5.8 in the Turkey-Iran border region almost 2 hours ago. The epicenter was near the Iranian town of Khoy. So far, no injuries have been reported yet.
