Report: 1.15-16.23

 


A magnitude 6.2 earthquake just struck the Nias region(northern Sumatra) of Indonesia a short while ago. The quake was at a depth of 80 km(49 miles). So far, there have been no reports of damage or injuries. This earthquake was also offshore. There has been an increase in moderate earthquake activity in the world all day today. There is still a very high potential for more significant earthquakes out there. Other potentially active regions to watch include: other parts of Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Vanuatu region, El Salvador, Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands...
