A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the Luzon region of the Philippines earlier. So far, there have not been any news reports of damage or injuries. The quake was 129 kilometres deep. It did not appear to cause violent shaking in the areas near the epicenter. The epicenter of said earthquake may have been on land, but it had a relatively deep focal depth. All may not be quiet out there now. There is still a high potential for more strong earthquake activity in the world somewhere any time now.
