Update: 1/6/22

A magnitude 6.2 shook Nicaragua this morning, causing people to panic and flee into the streets. However, there were no initial reports of damage. It was felt strongly in the capital of Managua. It was also felt to the North in El Salvador. By the way, running out of the building during an earthquake is not a good idea. You would more likely get injured or killed by debris falling from the outside of a building or house. Any running or moving around is not what you should do while the ground is shaking violently. Stay where you are and take cover underneath a table, desk, or even a chair to protect yourself from falling objects and debris.
