Update: 1/11/21

 


There have been a bunch of significant earthquakes over the past day. A magnitude 6.8 struck the Aleutian Islands of Alaska early this morning. It has not posed a tsunami threat to Hawaii. There have been some strong aftershocks. Yesterday, a magnitude 6.6 struck the Cyprus region of Greece, but there were no reports of damage. There could be more activity continuing in parts of the world. There have also been some new small quakes in parts of the Southeastern U.S. A new small EQ was recorded in the New Madrid Seismic Zone area near Ridgely, Tennessee and a few more micro quakes in South Carolina.
