Update: 9/17/22

Images of some significant damage have surfaced. I still have not heard of reports of casualties so far. The earthquake occurred at 3:41 a.m. local time. There are still elevated levels of seismic activity in the world. There is some activity going on off the coast of Japan and the Ryukyu Islands region as well as northern Chile and southern Peru. Taiwan may not be out of the woods yet. That region has been more active recently for a while. There may or may not be another significant earthquake there, but it is always best to exercise precaution in case something else does happen.
