Outlook: August 2021

It has been a very active week, probably the most active week I have ever seen in terms of large earthquakes. At this point, it may finally be settling down out there. A strong earthquake anytime now is still not out of the question somewhere, though. There may be a very quiet period following all this. It could last a week or it may not last long at all with consistent magnitude 5+ earthquakes throughout parts of the world. While the threat for more strong earthquakes in the world isn't over yet, there could be a pause in significant activity to where the next round of significant activity may not be until the end of this month or early September. Then again, there could be a couple of mag. 6s along the way(not counting aftershocks). The next candidates for significant EQ activity may include Iran, the Ryukyu Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central America, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Kuril Islands, or the Aleutian Islands. There is also some more questionable activity going on in parts of the United States such as Western Texas and even the Central and Eastern U.S.
