A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck northern Peru near the Ecuador border region on Thursday morning. The quake occurred shortly before 11 a.m. and was centered about 51 km(32 miles) northwest of Barranca and 177 km(110 miles) north of Rioja, according to the USGS. Whether it resulted in any significant injuries or damage was not immediately clear. The earthquake was at a depth of 99.7 km(62 miles). It might still be active out there. This could extend into next week or this may be a particularly active window. Other places that could potentially be active would include: Indonesia(Banda and Flores Sea region), East Timor, Philippines(Batan and Babuyan Islands region), Kermadec Islands region, Western Turkey/Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Aleutian Islands..
