New EQ Watch: 8/12-17/22

I retracted the extended watch I posted the other day. I did not really feel like much was going on until just now. There are increased levels in activity worldwide. There is now a high potential for magnitude 6 or greater somewhere out there any time within the next 5-7 days so far. There could even potentially be a very significant event imminent somewhere. At the same time, there may not be that much going on. So far, it looks like it is heating up. Regions that have been more active lately include: Japan and the Kuril Islands, Western Iran, parts of the Mediterranean and Turkey, and the frequently active regions of Indonesia, the Southwestern Pacific, Papua New Guinea, Chile.. Japan and the Kuril Islands have been areas of interest over the past week or so. At this point, there could be a magnitude 6 or greater somewhere out there. At the same time, it may not be that immediately active yet. It could be showing signs of becoming active, but could end up being quiet again tomorrow. It feels unstable out there. There may or may not be a lot going on any time now, but it is worth being mindful of. As much as it may return to quiet again, there still could be something very significant going on somewhere.
