There has been some more signs of significant activity going on worldwide. A magnitude 5.8 occurred west of the Kuril Islands earlier. Yesterday was a rather quiet day. There is a very high potential for more large earthquake activity going on somewhere any day now. It may or may not be active today, but there is a high likelihood of magnitude 6 or greater somewhere within the next 5-7 days so far. Regions to watch might include: the Kuril Islands, Taiwan, Myanmar, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Tonga, Chile, Venezuela, Central America, the Aleutian Islands, Afghanistan, the Ionian Sea region or possibly Southeastern Europe.. More seismic activity has also taken place in Central and Northern California as well as Nevada and Western Texas. There may also be more activity increasing in parts of the United States such as Oklahoma, Utah or other parts of the West and possibly somewhere in the Eastern or Central U.S.(besides Oklahoma).
