A magnitude 6.6 earthquake occurred off the Kamchatka Peninsula(East coast) yesterday. There was no tsunami threat and no casualties or injuries have been reported in the affected areas. There were more than 20 aftershocks that ensued. Some more moderate sized earthquakes have occurred elsewhere in the world. There may still be more significant activity going on somewhere. At the same time, that may be it for now. There has been some more seismic activity occurring around the United States. There is less seismic activity going on in Southern California right now. There may or may not be much going on this week. It has overall remained quiet lately. There is a chance of mag. 3+ within the week ahead. There could be more going on elsewhere in CA and/or other parts of the Western U.S. There is also a potential for more activity going on in parts of the Central U.S. Alaska may have more mag. 3-4+ imminent any time now or within the next several days so far.
