There is now an elevated risk for strong earthquake activity in the world any time or day now this week so far. There are signs of more significant activity taking place in parts of the world so far. Regions to watch would include: South Sandwich Islands, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Southwestern Mexico, Philippines(Mindanao, Luzon), Papua New Guinea, Indonesia(Talaud Islands region, Sumatra, or Java), Andaman Islands, Japan(Hokkaido, Kyushu), Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, or the Aleutian Islands.. It has been relatively quiet in the continental United States this week so far. However, there is a high potential for more going on in Southern California any time or day now(mag. 3+) and Northern CA as well. There may also be more activity flaring up across the country within the week ahead. There were some micro quakes occurring more frequently in Western and Eastern Tennessee over the last 2-3 weeks. It has not been interesting this week, but it could start up again any time or day now.
