Update: 1/24/21

A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck the South Shetland Islands yesterday, but there was no tsunami threat or major damage. There has continued to be a lot of significant earthquake activity taking place around the world. There may still be more significant activity going on out there today and tomorrow. Other regions that could be candidates for the next significant earthquake may include: the Philippines, Japan, Kamchatka Peninsula, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Kermadec Islands, New Zealand, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, or the Banda Sea region), China(Xizang, Sichuan, or Yunnan), Central America, Chile... At the same time, it could end up winding down this week. There is a strong chance for more activity increasing in Southern California any time now or this week. This may also include the Searles Valley area as well as the Tehachapi/Grapevine area. There may also be more activity taking place in Central California and the Mammoth Lakes area.
