Yesterday, a magnitude 6.8 struck near the coast of Los Lagos, Chile. There was no threat of a tsunami for Hawaii. There were also no initial reports of damage or injuries. There is still a very high chance out there for a bigger event somewhere any time or day now. I feel like I should have immediately posted it yesterday. I usually wait until the next day to make an update following a strong earthquake. I wait in case something else ends up happening later that day. There is due to be a lot more going on out there any time now or around New Year's. Regions that may be under the gun would include: Japan(Honshu or Hokkaido or the Izu Islands region), Northern Mariana Islands, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, the Banda Sea region), East Timor, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Chile, Peru, Central America, Iran, Turkey, or Greece.. There is also due to be a lot more activity taking place in Southern California any day now as well as other parts of California. There could also potentially be something going on in Northern Alaska or the Yukon Territory.
