Outlook for Southern California - 6/20/20

It has been slowly showing signs of more activity, but then becoming extremely quiet for several hours at a time over the last several days. However, they[micro quakes - mag. 1s and lower 2s] became more frequent today. However, it was not very impressive. I will not be surprised if it even continues like this well into the week. There is due to be more magnitude 4+ in this region any day now. It could happen later tonight, tomorrow, or perhaps later next week. The longer it remains like this, the more activity we'll be experiencing later.

More magnitude 3+ aftershocks may continue to occur in the Searles Valley area this week and/or next week.

More significant activity has started increasing once more in parts of the world so far. So far, there is a very high chance of mag. 6+ anytime or day now somewhere. There is even a strong potential for another magnitude 7 or greater somewhere. Regions to watch would include: Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Kermadec Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Molucca Sea or Banda Sea region), Andaman Islands, Batan Islands(Philippines), Ryukyu Islands(Japan), Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, or Kyushu), Kamchatka Peninsula or possibly the Cherskiy Range of Russia, Aleutian Islands(Alaska, USA), Greece, Iceland, Central America, Chile or Bolivia..

There has been some more activity increasing in Southern California earlier. There is due to be mag. 4+ any time or day now. There may also be more going on in other parts of California. Nonstop aftershocks continue in Nevada. More aftershocks may also likely be on the rise in Idaho. There is also more activity increasing in Southern and Northern Alaska. More mag. 4+ may be on the rise in either of those areas.

June 19, 2020 - Outlook

There are continuous aftershocks taking place in the Kermadec Islands region. There is still a very high chance of more large earthquake activity in parts of the world. There could also be a strong aftershock occurring in the same region where Thursday's magnitude 7.4 occurred. At the same time, it could end up mellowing out again out there. Places that may be of concern include: Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, Batan Islands, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Hindu Kush region, Greece, Japan(Honshu, Hokkaido), Kamchatka Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Banda Sea region), Solomon Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Chile, Central America...

The activity has slowly started to rise again here in Southern California. There is a very high chance of magnitude 3 or even 4+ this weekend or anytime now within the week ahead. There is due to be a lot more taking place out here. More aftershocks are taking place in Nevada and there also may be more activity taking place in the Searles Valley and Mammoth Lakes area of California. There may also be more mag. 4+ in Alaska. There could also be more activity taking place in Northern Alaska or the Yukon area.

Just over an hour ago, a magnitude 7.4 occurred in the Kermadec Islands region. Last night, I tweeted that the chances of mag. 6+ somewhere in the world have spiked again as I was going to bed. Earlier yesterday, I made a post in this blog, but took it off because I did not want to jump the gun just yet. That earthquake did not occur on land or anywhere populous. There were also no reports of a tsunami impacting any communities elsewhere thus far. That being said, there still could be more large earthquake activity taking place in parts of the world anytime now so far.

Regions to watch out for include: Myanmar(a magnitude 5 just now occurred there), Southwestern Pacific Ocean(Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Kermadec Islands), Papua New Guinea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Molucca or Banda Sea region), Northern Mariana Islands, Batan Islands region(Philippines), Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands(Japan), Andaman Islands region, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Greece/Eastern Mediterranean region, Aleutian Islands(Alaska), Kamchatka Peninsula..

However, it could also become relatively quiet again where that could be it for now, but there is still a high potential for more serious activity any time now or this weekend. More activity finally started taking place in Southern California yesterday evening. A magnitude 3.2 occurred 13 miles NW of Ojai - The first magnitude 3 and above in 2 weeks. This morning, it looks like it has died down a bit, but there is still a high chance of it heating up again. There is also a high potential for more taking place elsewhere in California such as the Tehachapi area(and Central California), the Searles Valley, as well as Northern California or Oregon(the Pacific Northwest). More aftershocks may continue in Nevada as well as Idaho. There could also potentially be more taking place over in Utah.

There is a lot of significant earthquake activity going on in the world so far. There is an extremely high chance of a major quake somewhere any moment now or any day at this point. There just now may be more activity increasing in Southern California again any moment now. There is due to be more magnitude 3-4+ any time now. There is a very high likelihood of magnitude 3 or greater sometime this week in Southern California if nothing happens today. There is due to be more magnitude 4 or greater here. There may be more activity occurring in other parts of California as well.

A magnitude 6.7 occurred in the Ryukyu Islands region, 81 miles WNW of Naze. Its focal depth was of 101 miles. There may be much more going on in the world. There is now a very high chance of major earthquake activity somewhere any moment now or any day now so far. More activity has started warming up in Southern California so far. There is a very high potential for mag. 3-4+ anytime or day now. There may also be more taking place in the Ridgecrest sequence and/or other areas of the Western United States. New Watch: June 11-19, 2020

As of right now, there may not be a lot going on in terms of serious earthquake activity but that could change later on today or within the week ahead so far. At the same time, it could remain quiet all day or into the weekend. There is still a very high chance of more large earthquake activity in the world. Regions that could be potential candidates for the next big one include: Japan(Hokkaido, Honshu, Izu Islands, Ryukyu Islands), Taiwan, Kuril Islands, Kamchatka Peninsula, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia(Sumatra, Java, Banda Sea region, or Molucca Sea region), Andaman Islands(Port Blair area, India), Nicobar Islands, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey or the Eastern Mediterranean Sea region, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Kermadec Islands, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands, Chile, Peru or Bolivia..
There may still be more magnitude 4 or greater taking place in Alaska(the Alaska Peninsula and Kodiak Island areas). Chuginadak Island's Cleveland volcano is at code orange which means it is under advisory according to the Alaska Volcano Observatory. There might be more activity on the rise again here in Southern California anytime or any day now. There could be more magnitude 3-4+ in the Ridgecrest area as well as near Mammoth Lakes. There continues to be a lot of aftershock activity taking place in Nevada. At this point, there may be more large and potentially dangerous earthquake activity taking place in the world somewhere any time or any day, however, it could also become quiet at first.
