EQ ALERT: June 24, 2020

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred 10 miles SSE of Lone Pine, California at 10:40 A.M. It should be no surprise to us as that region - the Eastern California Shear Zone and Western Nevada has been active over the past year. I suspected after there has been some activity occurring in that area, something bigger was probably coming. It must have been triggered by events and ongoing aftershock activity in surrounding areas.
I also will not be surprised if today's quake is a foreshock to an even larger event. As much as it also may not happen, be aware and prepared in case it does if you are in that area. There has also been more signs of activity heating up here in Southern California. More magnitude 4+ might be on the rise any day now. There could also still be more serious earthquake activity occurring in other more active parts of the world somewhere.
The Northern Mariana Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Myanmar, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Ecuador, Iceland, or the Aleutian Islands are some candidates that may have more strong EQs anytime or day now.
