So far, there are increasing levels in global seismic activity. This world earthquake watch might go on a while. It feels like something particularly big may be on the verge of happening somewhere very soon. At the same time, it could fall quiet again. The largest so far over the past 24 hours was a magnitude 5.8 in the West Chile Rise(in an ocean ridge). There has been a lot of activity taking place in Peru. There was also a moderate earthquake of mag. 5.5 in southern Italy. Always be aware in case of a larger event.

Update: 10/26/22
So far, at least 26 people were injured from the magnitude 6.4 earthquake in the Luzon region of the Philippines. It had also forced the closure of an airport and the evacuation of patients from a hospital. There had been more moderate activity on the rise throughout parts of the world. Yesterday, a magnitude 5.1 shook the San Francisco Bay area(California, U.S.A.), but it was not big enough to keep life from going on. There still may be more significant activity going on this week into next week. It may or may not act up more today, but there still may be more to come within the week ahead.

Report: 10/25/22
A magnitude 6.5 struck the Luzon region in the Philippines on Tuesday night. It was initially rated a magnitude 6.8, but was revised to magnitude 6.5. It hit at a depth of 28 km and was located about 7 km northeast of Tineg, a town on the main island of Luzon. It struck at 10:59 p.m. local time. This was 3 months after a damaging magnitude 7.0 struck the Island. In fact, today's earthquake's epicenter was in the exact same area as the bigger earthquake that occurred in late July. It still might be very active out there. An even larger earthquake striking that region or somewhere else is possible.

Update: 10/25/22
A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck the South Sandwich Islands 12 hours ago. There is not much else going on, but it could grow increasingly active this week. Other potentially hot regions would include the Philippines, Mariana Islands region, Indonesia, Japan, the Kuril Islands, the Aleutian Islands, the Solomon Islands region, Fiji, Tonga.. There has been some more signs of seismic activity going on in the Central and eastern U.S.(east of Oklahoma). A magnitude 2.4 earthquake struck southern Virginia early this morning. Over the past month, there has been a total of 42 earthquakes from the mid-south states to the northeast(and part of Canada). Back out west, there is not that much going on. There is no increase in seismic activity going on in Southern California. Last week had more going on in that part of the country. It seems like I forgot about seismic activity in California and Nevada since I left over a year ago. I really have not. It has simply been less active since. This is not to say that it will stay quiet for long. Now, panning back out to the rest of the world, it may not be very active yet, but it could change any time or day now. It could also stay quiet all day today and then become very active later this week.

Extended Watch: 10/21-31/22
There still might be a lot going out there so far. In another post, I mentioned that the rest of October may be a dragged out set of events. There may not be a number of strong earthquakes occurring in a small time slot at once(a period of 2-3 days), but throughout a period of 2 weeks. It still has not really changed. There could even be a magnitude 7 or greater imminent somewhere any time now or before the end of this month so far. Regions that may be showing signs of growing more active include: the Aleutian Islands, Kuril Islands, Japan(Hokkaido region or northern Honshu), Philippines(Leyte and Mindanao region), Indonesia(Sulawesi, Halmahera), East Timor, Fiji, Tonga, Central America, Ecuador, Peru, Chile...

Report: 10/20/22
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake just struck off the western coast of Panama. Strong shaking has been reported. Hazardous tsunami waves are possible. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center is currently conducting an evaluation to determine if there is a tsunami threat to Hawaii following the earthquake. The agency says a tsunami threat exists for areas of the Pacific closer to the earthquake. It is still too early to determine whether Hawaii will face a threat or not. The epicenter was located 82 km south of David, Panama. Moderate shaking probably occurred in Boca Chica, located 59 km from the epicenter. I will provide more updates throughout the day when more information comes out.

Report: 10/16/22
An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck off the coast of Central America today. It had a focal depth of 2 km. There has not been any reports of damage. It was well offshore. It occurred near that junction where the Cocos Plate collides with the Nazca Plate. It was initially rated a magnitude 6.7, but was lowered to magnitude 6.3. Otherwise, there is not an abundant amount of activity going on elsewhere. However, there still may be more to come this week. Other potentially active regions to watch out for include the Kamchatka Peninsula, Kuril Islands, Aleutian Islands, Indonesia(Banda Sea region, Pulau Sumbawa region), East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Central Asia(Western China, Myanmar region), Japan, Solomon Islands, New Zealand...
